Moonlight Mountain Retreat is situated high in the hills of rural Tobago with spectacular views of the Caribbean and Atlantic. Atop its own rainforest nature trail with bamboo grove and a haven for wildlife, we offer a unique experience of Caribbean living in a traditional style house, surrounded by tropical fruits, flowers and birds.

Group yoga/alternative holidays run annually from January to November. The centre is run with empathy and knowledge of the island by Ginny Plumpton BWY DIP and her Tobagonian husband, Kelly, who complement the sessions with classes in local dance forms, reggae, soca, and salsa. Reflexology, Reiki Swedish massage and Bowen Technique are also available on our poolside deck.

The house is built along traditional lines, it is what is called in the Caribbean a gingerbread house - a reference to the decorative fretwork which adorns the outside. Set in what used to be agricultural land and designed to catch the sea breezes, it has its own kitchen garden, fruit trees, a nature trail through rainforest and a bamboo grove. A couple of steps from the kitchen door and you can pick your own fresh fruit for breakfast

The house has large comfortable bedrooms, each opening out onto a verandah with spectacular views. The verandas - ideal for practising yoga - catch the cooling breezes. There is a wonderful library with a selection of local literature as well as classics. The house provides shared, double or single accommodation in a homely relaxed atmosphere. Like most homes in Tobago we have animals. Two dogs, Honey & Rocky and cats, Shiva & Shanti.

Beyond the garden a gently sloping path leads you to a nature trail that winds through rainforest and a grove of graceful bamboo.
