Mary's Hill Lodge - Summary Description
3-bedroom Cottage/Small House. Reader Satisfaction Rating
Mary's Hill Lodge is a wooden-built cottage set high on a hillside, with views of woodlands on the other side of the valley. The house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, one en-suite. Thanks to being almost completely open the sitting/dining/kitchen area is breezy with a view of the sunset above the woodlands across the valley. All bedrooms have their own balconies looking out across the garden area and can be opened up to get the best of the cool night breezes.
We enjoyed 5 days at Mary's Hill Lodge during our 2008 trip to Tobago. Full details of our stay are available by clicking on the 'Review' tab at the top and bottom of this page.

Marys Lodge is set in 1 acre on the top side of a valley in a semi-rural area. Here you will see and experience the daily colourfull life in the Caribbean. On arrival you will mount 34 steps which lead you onto the long and spacious verandah which continues around both sides of the house. Behind the house which is made entirely of seasoned timber with seda wood louvered windows, is a grassed bank which ends at the top of the ridge.
Located next to the front door is the double stainless sink and as you enter the house the 6 ringed cooker ,fridge freezer and cupboards are on your left. On the right is a work-top bar and cupboards where we keep the double toaster and electric kettle. In front of you there is the balcony which runs the length of the house. The kitchen, dining area and sitting room are all incorporated into one light and airy living space. It's a wonderfull place to relax in either cooking and chatting to friends whilst drinking a Carib beer or dining amongst the tree tops next to the balcony with the star light sky.
The sitting room has two sofas, an easy chair, tv and DVD player.
There are two double bedroom, one en-suite which are on either side of the living area, both with large louvered doors which open onto the verandah. A flight of stairs descends to the third bedroom and a separate shower, hand basin and loo fully tiled. Here we have the washing machine and dryer.
Life in the Caribbean starts early with the crowing of chickens and the Chakalakas make a cacophony of cakle any time of the day or night. There is singing from the church school, there are goats in the field below and the most incredible bird song.
There are 27 bird species to be seen at marys lodge...
