Sandy Point Beach Club - Reader Reports & Opinion
Superb, Money Well Spent.

My extended family and I stayed at Sandy Point for 1 week. There were 3 families in all, including 3 toddlers, an 8 year old and 5 adults. Nine in total and what can I say. The staff were courteous and accomodating and we absolutely enjoyed our time there. A good measure of fun is to ask our children. They loved it. There was enough there to entertain them all and they never got bored. The view from the loungers at the pool and on the beach and from the seats at the bar were calming and just plain beautiful. We never got tired of watching the pelicans feed while sipping an exotic drink. And we always tried to race to the beach to watch the sunset. The late night activities were fun and just relaxing.
The bar staff were kind and made really good mixes. There was pool, table tennis, darts etc. available at the bar and the swimming pool was close by so we could all have fun and keep an eye on the children. The rooms were well equipped. My mom, sister-in-law and I marvelled at the kitchen supplies. There was everything (blender, pots, pans) that was needed except for the food, foil and plastic wrap of course. We could have a dinner party and be well equipped. The mini mart also sold salt and pepper in little bags that fit into the salt and pepper shakers.
Our rooms held all nine of us, with privacy. The children had their separate space and the adults did as well. The view was not the greatest from where we were, but we did not spend much time looking out the windows. The hot tubs were very convenient, one right outside our porch. The mini mart was well equipped and competitively priced. I would caution about the restaurant though, as we found it excessively pricey. We ate there for some specials but would rather walk out to the main road. We thoroughly enjoyed our local meals provided by the lady with the BBQ stall at the side of Milford Rd across from the burger and fries place.
We took the charter/van to Pigeon Point and it was convenient. We did spend a lot of money travelling by car, but then again there were 9 of us. The trips into Scarborough were well worth it and the taxi drivers helped us find local fruits at much better prices.
All in all, the staff were great, the prices were okay, the place is superb and the location is perfect. That it is near the airport was not a problem and noise was not a factor. We will definitely vacation there again and may even buy a time share. It is well worth it after our experience. Friends and family who visited us at there also fell in love with it and have subsequently booked their own time there as well. Do your research, not much will compare for the same affordability, location and ease.

I truley enjoyed myself at the Sandy Point Beach Club in Tobago. I went site seeing twice during my week and it was very educational and fun to interact with the people of this Island. The food was exellent and had a great fire dancer one night for entertainment. They had a pool table, and hokey game to play. I enjoyed swinging in the swings and playing on the see-saw. I thought I was a little girl again.
How this resort is located is great! You have the beach right out back of the resort also the spa and the swimming pool. The people of the resort were so wonderful to you. The only thing I didn't care for in the villa I was in, were the steps to your bedroom. There were about fourteen or fifteen steps to climb up to the bedroom. There was only one bathroom which was downstairs in the kitchen area. I dread going down the steps in the middle of the night for the bathroom or for anything from the kitchen or sink. Oh well I guess you can't have everything perfect. Other than that, I had a great experience.

In July, 2007 my family and I were guests at the Sandy Point Beach Club. We spent a week at the club.
We found accomodations to be clean and well kept. Staff were quiet but friendly. Our stay was quite relaxing and safe. The location is quiet and tucked away but still close to all amenities. We weren't crazy about the restaurant though. There are a lot of food choices closeby so we usually ate out.
This was our second time visiting the Beach Club. Each time we were promised to be picked up by a shuttle but this never came. There were a lot of taxis willing to drive us to the hotel however.

Very Friendly And Relaxed

Family of 4 with 2 teenage daughters. We stayed here for a week. Room was spacious and cool, equipment was clean and plentiful The desk staff could not have been more helpful, they booked restaurants, taxis without delay and have hire cars on site, we always got a smile and chat from the security guard at night when we got back (reception closes at 9pm). The resort provides a free shuttle bus to pigeon point and Mt Irvine on a regular basis which was very handy. one of the mini buses is VERY cranky and a bit dodgy but it went!. If you want to you can sign up with a guy called Wayne (Via a lady called Elvira) who does runs out to beaches at night to see the Turtles nesting, you need to leave you location with him and he will try to find you, he is a bit pricey but it is worth every penny. The on site bar was well stocked, prices for beer at $7tt is good but spirits ware a bit pricey at $26tt for a Gin. The bar has entertainment most nights we went one night, (Limbo dancer he was impressive) but as we ate out we missed most. However you can get a nightcap and sit on the beach and watch the herons and hermit crabs scuttle around!. Food in the on site cafe, I hesitate at restaurant, was good with a limited daily choice. Service at the cafe was a little slow but who cares! If you get a car or feel like an long walk go to the 'Penny Saver' super market to stock up. Prices are good and the range of goods is amazing. Beats most French supermarche I have been to! All in all a nice relaxing place to stay with access to most things, a VERY short airport transfer and some good restaurants within a short taxi ride. Best Restaurant we found was the Kariwak Village with short choice menu (All in) fun staff and strange setting!
