It's a 9 out of 10, with one point deducted because nothing is perfect.
Even though there was some construction going on while we were there May 6-13, who can fault a resort for expansion? Also, the workers stuck to the schedule apparently set by the SPBC owner, which meant most of the noise was happening while guests were out an about.
Pool: Great for a dip, but nothing you'd spend all day sitting around. Try the slide! Also, incredible ocean view.
Bar (Clubhouse): The best sunset in Tobago, they say. They were right, and the staff was friendly and had a good sense of humor. Also, who lines up a billiard shot with the Caribbean Sea perched just over the ball? SPBC pool players, that's who. Finally, can you say "beach-bar hammock"?
Restaurant: Well, we never went. Its hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Rooms: Our studio was spacious for two people. Clean and comfortable, with remote-control air-conditioning, TV and a full kitchen (stove/oven, blender, toaster, coffee maker and all the dishes and untensils you'd need). Cleaning staff was friendly and accommodating.
Laundry service: Affordable and same-day. Go early.
Hot tubs: 3 of them, all of differing degrees C (F). Nice places to unwind at night.
Activities: A host of activites are planned, from Charlotteville/Speyside trips, to Scarborough shopping to rainforest tours. We won a scuba diving trip in a raffle our first day. What's not to like about that?
Frontier Divers: Try them, you'll like them. They're on-site. Ask for Big Doggy. Our first time scuba diving was a pleasure and not stressful.
Location: You can walk to Store Bay in 7 minutes; it's close to Flaming Dragon Chinese restarant, Ru-B-Lou's, Tropikist's ocean-view bar, the airport; and a taxi to Pigeon Point takes less than 10 minutes.
We'll be back as soon as we can make it.

My sister and I will be traveling to Tobago next week, and are having difficulty deciding where to stay. We are both single women in our late twenties, and while we would like to be near to and part of the local nightlife...we would also like for our trip to Tobago to be a relaxing one. I am currently trying to decide between Crowne Point (for location reasons...)Kariwak Village, Hummingbird Heights, Blue Haven Hotel or Sandy point Beach Club...oh, or Toucan Inn (Bonkers). I realize all are quite different, but would appreciate any insight.

My family and I have just returned from a week long stay in Tobago. We are RCI timeshare owners who traded for a week at Sandy Point Beach Club. Overall, we were very happy with Sandy Point. The rooms were terrific, the staff (especially housekeeping) were polite, thoughtful, friendly, and efficient. Sandy Point seems to attract many families and my kids made friends with those of another family quickly which made our stay all the more comfortable.
Weight room, hot tubs, pool, outside bar, restaurant, on site dive shop, excursions, internet access – Sandy Point has all the amenities you could ask for and I think we used them all.
I won't say that our Sandy Point was perfect, but I've never stayed anywhere that was perfect. Sandy Point is fairly low key even compared to other local hotel/restaurants. I prefer low key places, so Sandy Point suited me nicely.
I recommend Frontier Divers whcih is on site at Sandy Point. They go out of their way to make sure your dive experience is as good as you can get. Again, the emphasis is on fun – Frontier Divers are not pretentious.

hi can you all help me? i have a budget of around 50 USD-70USD (for a nice place). my top needs: a) easy access to pidgeon point or some other beach where i won't be hassled, but where i will not be all alone either (i will be too nervous); b) accommodations that are not isolated, in case i want to go out for a snack in the early evening, i want to return someplace not remote. c) nothing too creepy in decor. if i could afford a hilton, that would be my idea of nice accommodations. i'll be coming from an eco rafting trip and this is my chance to be clean and happy. thank you- i'm leaving in two days for the first part of my trip- all advice great;y appreciated! d) car rentals seem really pricey, and i don;t drive stick shift. thanks- deedee
