Sherwood Park Apartments - Reader Reports & Opinion
Highly Recommended For Relaxing In A Laid Back Way

It was the first time that we visited Tobago and it will definitely not be the last. We found all that we were looking for: rest, relaxation, beautiful nature and very friendly and helpful people.
You have to go around the island, rent a car for a couple of days and explore. Do not stay on the main road all the time, but take the smaller roads going to secluded beaches and really mind baffling views.
The food is great and fortunately the island is not catering to mass tourism and we sincerely hope it stays that way.
Don't forget to go to the bird feeding session at Arnosvale Hotel and certainly go to the Turtle Beach Hotel after 2200 hrs to hopefully see a turtle laying its eggs. We did and it was truly a miracle.
We made 2 excursions, one with the Island Girl, Captain Scott, highly recommendable (playing with sting rays) and fantastic snorkling, great luch and all drinks available, the 2nd one an off-the-road day trip into the rainforest. Truly a beautiful experience.
The rainforest, birds, beaches, marine live and the people made our holiday unforgettable, truly a paradise.

Excellent, Friendly Quiet

Sherwood apartments is a great place to stay for peace and quiet that is except for the cockerels!!! They start early and finish late but hey we didnt mind really. Nigel and his staff are friendly and cant do enough to help, he set up our trips for us without us having to lift a finger. Definitely worth renting a car, you can use taxis but a car only about £25 per day.
We were the only ones staying for a some of our 2 week stay and to have the gardens and pool to ourselves was great although very quiet.
Overall great place for peace and quiet, early nights and early rises ( partly due to the b.... cockerel!!!!!)

A Retreat From The Stress
Gillian from Barbados visited in April 2007 and awarded
An old schoolmate and I just spent 4 glorious days in Tobago. We were visiting for the Tobago jazz festival (which was absolutely brilliant!!) and hoped to have a few lazy days as well. We did our homework and finally settled on Sherwood Apts as "the place". We were not disappointed! Nigel, the manager was friendly and very easy-going. Everything went smoothly from airport pick-up to drop off. Although we didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel as most evenings were taken up with the music festival, we are pleased to report that it was clean, spacious and well equipped. Of course, Sherwood is the place if you truly want to get away from it all as there are no television sets, internet or phones in the rooms but that suited us fine as it was our goal to completely de-stress and forget our busy lives. The gardens and local flowers are beautiful and the pool looked so inviting (although we somehow never went in!) There were a few families who seemed to thoroughly enjoy it.
It's important I think to rent a car if you wish to do sightseeing and eat out frquently as Sherwood is definitely away from the main drag. I had to laugh at the roosters in the neighbourhood as they seemed to have their internal clocks mixed up! We returned home at 2 o'clock one morning to hear the village cock crowing for all he's worth (and he didn't stop!) Thankfully I was so sleepy I dropped off despite this...but I did notice that Tobago roosters start crowing LONG before dawn!:)
So thanks to My Tobago website for pointing us in the right direction and the staff at Sherwood for making our short vacation a very pleasant, enjoyable one where we finally had a chance to catch up and giggle uncontrollably! See you for jazz 2008! Gillian and Angelene- St Francois Girls' College 1975-83

Guest Report - Sherwood Park Apartments
Susan Austin from U.K. visited in March 2007 and awarded
On arrival the accommodation was attractive and colourful though seemed a little basic, particularly the washing facilities. However we soon settled in and enjoyed the charming easy laid back style. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Outstanding

My wife and I were just looking at traveling back to T & T and I realized that I had not provided any feedback regarding our last stay.
My wife's father was from Trinidad and we are fortunate enough to have family living there. I surprised her with a wedding in Tobago and thought it was fate that we found the Sherwood Park Apartments...the same name as where we live now!
We arrived in Trinidad in time for Carnival and after a long, rough ferry ride we finally made it to Tobago. We got married on the beach February 2007 and Nigel and his wife and staff went out of their way to assist us. The assistant manager assisted my wife with her hair on the big day and Nigel's wife even drove the bride to the beach.
We had a late wedding supper and Nigel had arranged for a taxi to pick us up and when it didn't show he got up at 1:30 am and picked us up.
We will be staying there whenever we are fortunate enough to visit the beautiful island!
Thanks to Fred to also for putting up with my 100 questions and changes.
Happy New Year from Sherwood Park, Alberta Canada
