Hummingbird Hotel - Reader Reports & Opinion
Our Stay At The Humming Bird Was Excellent
Annella from Trinidad visited in January 2007 and awarded
I stayed at the Humming Bird Hotel this past weekend of January 2008 accompanied by three other family members. Our stay at the Humming Bird was simply "perfect". We enjoyed our stay 100%. The rooms were clean and inviting. The pool was excellent. Paul and Linda were very good hosts. They made us feel comfortable, welcomed and encouraged to return. The breakfast served, prepared by Paul was divine. We did not have lunch or dinner at the hotel but i'm sure it's excellent.
For anyone looking for a simply relaxing, exquisite, welcoming, pleasurable vacation in Tobago, please consider the Humming Bird as your choice of stay as it will definitely satisfy your every need including your budget.
To Paul and Linda, we thank you very much for your hospitality.
We will definitely return to the Humming Bird before the year ends.
Keep Blessed,
Annella, Shawn, Patricia & Shane.

Great Place To Stay
Le Tren from U.S.A. visited in September 2006 and awarded
We spent a week at this hotel and it was great, we had our meals at the hotel, breakfast and dinner, had to skip the lunches since the breakfasts lasted us thru the day, our host was a good cook and the menu varied. They hooked us up with island tours and we had a wonderful time. Our room was cleaned and the linens changed daily, Paul and Linda were friendly and helpful they made our stay a pleasure.

February 2006
Peter And Linda from U.K. visited in February 2006 and awarded
We had stayed at a different hotel in Tobago on two previous visits (2003 and 2005) but we did need to look for change of surroundings.
We looked on the 'My Tobago' site and saw the Hummingbird. We saw that new owners had bought it and that it looked fine in the description so we went ahead and booked it.
We arrived on Saturday and were met by Linda and Paul and knew immediately that we had made the right decision. They are a wonderful couple who made our stay the most memorable. We stayed in one of the suites upstairs and it was everything that we could have wanted.
The food is cooke by Paul and is lovely. Whilst we wnt out most evenings to eat we did have four evening meals at the Hummingbird as well as breakfast every day. All you need do is let Paul or Linda know in the morning that you want dinner and thats it, easy as that.
We are going back in February 2008 and we can't wait to see our friends Linda and Paul again.
I think that says it all.

A Suitable Hotel For 2 Fifty Something Couples? 07 Aug 2006
Jean Haines from Cambridgeshire, England
We are two couples in our late fifties who have booked a flight to Tobago in January 07 and we are now looking for a suitable hotel. We are interested in, but not expert at, birdwatching and we want a small hotel with a pool and decent food which is not too far from a good beach. We would then use this as a base so that we can get out and about and explore.
We are interested in booking The Hummingbird Hotel at Crown Point. We understand it has been recently sold to new owners who we have been in contact with. Unfortunately as they are unable to take a deposit from us via our credit card they are asking for half the cost of the holiday, upfront, transferred into their bank account.
Has anyone any knowledge of the Crown Point area and The Hummingbird in particular? Is it a suitable place for us?
And has anyone an opinion on paying such a large proportion of the holiday so far in advance and without the benefit of credit card protection?
Also has anyone any other suggestions as to where to stay, preferable near to bird watching areas?
