Guest Report - Coccorico Guest House
Philipp Giebel from Germany visited in September 2005 and awarded
It's been quiet a time since we've been to the Coccoricos Guest House, but it still is one of my most noticeable holidays. First we planned to hop from house to house but when we arrived we soon decided to stay at this really nice and quiet house for our whole trip.
The guest family, a swiss woman with a tobagonian husband and some mid-age children, is so friendly, we almost felt like part of the family..! While they didn't force us to spend our time with them, we were always welcome to (or at least we felt welcome.. ;) )
The guest house was perfectly clean, when we arrived and it was cleaned on the day of our departure, so the next visitors had a clean home, again... In the meantime, we had to clean up our own mess, but that was just what we wanted..
There is a small kitchen or "cooking-corner" in the guest house so we could cook our own meal, but most of the time we only used the stove for making fresh lemon-grass-tee from the plant right in front of our house – jammie!
Sometimes the family did cook or grill (only time I REALLY loved fish was when he grilled some mysterious caribbean fish tasting like beef..) and sometime we visited one of many restaurants they recommended, but most of the time we didn't eat so much, 'coz visiting Tobago in September is only for the tough guys..! ;) That's the only negative thing I have to say: Tobago in September is HOT and WET! We had a VERY high humidity and that's quiet normal for September.. Our own fault – just a few weeks later and it would've been perfect..
We also took a lot of pictures from the guest house and the countryside – but I'm not allowed to enter links here.. Maybe the editorial staff contacts me so they can add them...
