I've stayed at the coco reef for a few days while i was in tobago for vacation...and i have to say it was well above my expectations
the friendliness of the staff was very refreshing...everyone was extremely helpful and courteous
the room was always well kept...room service came everyday to change the sheets and provide clean towels...but at the same time not invading your privacy...
and as for the resturant the food tasted greattt
its a really nice hotel...and i would recommend to to anyone..whether your away on business...or just leisure..with your own private lagoon..where you can take moonlight walks
who wouldn't want to stay there
try it you just might like it :)

We stayed for two weeks at Coco Reef in June 2008 and really enjoyed our holiday. Tobago is a beautiful island and well worth exploring, jeep hire is a must to really explore and prices reasonable.
The Coco Reef Hotel is probably the best on the island and has an impressive list of Royal and celebrity visitors on display, it is also conveniently located at Crowne Point.
There are however a number of imperfections at this hotel. The roofs leak badly in places, service is relaxed (slow) at best and sometimes non-existant, we often had to go looking for a server on the gallery, nevertheless this became our favourite late afternoon retreat. If you stay on B&B as we did, the hotel only allows £300 credit for incidentals, this only lasted us a few days before we were asked to pay, this made us feel the hotel did not trust guests to pay at the end of their stay. There is some aircraft noise from the nearby airport but not really obtrusive, more noisy is Store Bay beach with its fleet of glass bottom boats working next door to the hotel, (beware if you dont like Bob Marley at high volume), we actually liked it. Hotel food varied from excellent to poor but prices of food and drink were reasonable. Hotel entertainment was generally good quality.
There are some good restaurants close to the hotel within walking distance, and even better within a short taxi ride (typically USD25 round trip to Buccoo).
If you fancy Tobago, go before it becomes more developed, dont fuss too much about "little tings", dont expect international 5 star, just relax and enjoy, and despite the imperfections, stay at Coco Reef.

The coco reef resort is truly wonderful due to the fantastic staff it employs,on my recent visit all staff of every department were brilliant, anything you needed was no problem to them and there attitude was such a delight it brought out the best in yourself. The beach was delightful with the man made barrier now attracting so many species of fish that snorkeling was a totally awesome experience.Food at the coco reef was a culinary delight in bachannals although it would have been nice if local cuisine were served as well. One last comment on the staff in bobsters bar,i have travelled all over the world and nowhere comes close to them, a great bunch who let you into their lives and experience true caribbean hospitality.

My girlfriend and I took a vacation trip to Tobago as she had never been to the island. The Coco reef resort and spa was our choice after considering a few guest accommodation ideas.
Upon arrival at the resort we were greeted by courteous staff and front desk personnel. A welcome drink helped pass the time as awaited our room after requesting an early check in. The room was spacious and inviting. The bed was covored with flower petals and small leaves in an interesting arrangement that said "A Warm Welcome". Being pampered never hurt anyone and they were clearly prepared to go that extra mile. Staff were always pleasant, courteous and repsectful. The man made beach is very attractive and great for swimming without having to worry about strong currents and deep water. Drinks were available while you sat on the beach and the pool was just a few yards away.
If you intend on dining at Tamara's restaurant remember guys, walk with polo shirts or anything with a collar. We even added one extra night to our stay as the time went by so quickly. The room was cleaned twice daily by yet again very courteous staff. Equipped with a social director's office that contained books, board games, brochures and general information on the island and tours this added a very homely touch to all the amenities that make this such a great retreat. We found the bar a nice hang out at night with relaxing music and cigars also available.
This was a very good vacation getaway. The hotel was walking distance from the airport, a local grocery, local food vendors, bars and beaches in one direction and a bank, laundry mat, and restaurants in the other direction. Needless to say it was a great location and public transportation was right at your footsteps as you walked outside the hotel.
Great value for money and good for anyone who can afford a stay at this prime vacation spot.

Accommodation overeall wan't bad – it was just the attitude of the staf who I found at tmes were rude, to the point that i actually complained to the manager. Food was disappointing, pool area basic and garden room (suite) overlooked a tiny bit of garden, no view whatsovere and was a haven for mosquitos. Also, on the day of our departure we had great difficulty in securing a room so that we could check out later in the day, despite having a baby. I would not recommend Tobago (Coco Reef) as a relaxing or enjoyable holiday destination.
