Guest Report - Palms Villa Resort

N Harding from U.K. visited in April 2008 and awarded  Five out of Five

I had the pleasure of staying at the Palms Villa resort in April. On arrival I couldn't believe my luck, our villa, "the tea house", one of five in the grounds was enormous, the fridge was stocked with some carib lagers and some food and my first evening there was spent largely pool side watching the sun go down, amongst some quite stunning scenery. The rooms were spacious, and the air conditioning a god-send as I slept like a baby. On waking up in the morning, I felt like a lottery winner urveying his paradise.

Our housekeeper, Karen was an absolute star, always smiling, and possibly the sweetest person we have ever met, nothing was too much trouble for her.

It's quite clear that you need your own transport when staying here, but the info provided to us on arrival gave us the number of a taxi driver we continued to use throughout our stay – Steve. Whatever time of the day, Steve was mr "no problem", even at 5am for a trip to the airport to go to Trinidad.

The noise from the other villas isn't a problem, the security are friendly and talkative, everything is set up for a secure and relaxing time. The resort is close enough to shops to not be a problem, and benefits in being away from the more built up areas such as Crown point, even though it is just minutes from the capital itself you would never know it.

Thoroughly recommended, particularly if you can share as a group of six to keep the costs down.

I cannot think of many things more relaxing that sitting out on the verandah, carib in hand listening to the humming birds flit from villa to villa, with the bbq on.

Do remember to buy some toilet roll though, as we discovered this is not replenished!

Palms Villas Is The Best

Brenda Mace from U.S.A. visited in January 2006 and awarded  Five out of Five

We stayed at the Palm Villas for a week in January 2006 with two other couples and spent the week diving with Wild Turtle and relaxing at the Villas. We had so much fun we are already planning a trip next January and will definitely stay at the Villas for our South side time.

The Villas, pool, service was all outstanding. Our only problem is now that we are so spoiled, we are having a hard time finding something of the same caliber in the North side as we want to split our tme beetween Speyside and Pigeon Point next year.

Palm Villas picks you up at the airport and makes sure your first meal on Tobago is already prepared for you. This was after spending many emails and phone calls helping us with flights and rental cars. The staff was always helpful from before our trip through the entire visit.

The private pool is awesome. Next to the diving, it was our favorite spot. We went out to dinner a couple times but mostly cooked in as there is a great kitchen and Penny Saver and the fresh markets made this the best way to eat. Hint, go with local food not imported. It tastes better and is much cheaper.

On the first night, the AC was out in one of the bedrooms and first thing the next morning it was fixed.

The grounds are awesome. We would have hummingbirds on the veranda whlie we were eating.

The whole week was just perfect.

I loved it and will definitely go back.

Palms Villas are fabulous. The surrounding grounds are picturesque, the villa is well furnished and i lived in the pool all day long. You will need transport however, it is not near local transportation. Taxis are readily available.

Hi

Has anyone been/stayed there?

My business partner has been offered a press trip – going next week, for a week. I am GUTTED!

Gone are the days when I can drop everything to jet off for a week in the Caribbean. This is one I would have snapped up in a flash!

Look forward to hearing about the resort – hope someone can help!
