We stayed here for 7 nights during the carnival season. It is very close to the airport but is not too noisy. We stayed in the deluxe room but the safe had been removed which was one of the reasons we choose this. The bed was king size and quite comfortable, and the room was large and we had a ocean view. The bathrooms are basic and could do with updating, although the standard rooms are very basic and small. There was only 1 pool open and the games room is closed. There were chairs around the pool but as it was a busy period there was not enough unless you got there early, the same goes for the parasols. The hotel provides pool towels. Our rate included buffet breakfast and this was adequate with a choice of hot and cold foods. We found the staff were helpful and friendly and the rooms were always cleaned by early afternoon. The beach is sadly neglected and we didnt use it but i dont think it would have been good to swim in as the floor was very rocky, but there are nice beaches nearby.
There is a restaurant for lunch and dinner and we ate their once and had a buffet which was value for money but it is within walking distance of lots of other restaurants.
The hotel does get a lot of negative comments but in my opinion it is a good value for money hotel and if you just want a good base then you should consider it.

The Tropikiss Hotel was very nice and pleasant. Our room was cleaned regularly and the receptionist was very helpful. There were no children's facilities, which was abit disappointing. Overall the hotel was nice

Overall, A Good Hotel For What You Pay For

I've been reading the reports from dissatisfied people and all I can say is that it is a 3 star hotel and you cannot expect 4/5 star treatment.
My wife and I spent 14 nights there and apart from the air-conditioning breaking down one night (which was repaired the next day), we had a smashing time there.
Yes, the meals at lunchtime can be a bit boring – but walk out of the hotel and turn right and there is a little haven called SYP'S that serves all sorts of food and so cheap that it doesn't matter if you are all inclusive as it is a nice break.
Evening meals are fine with fish and chicken on the menu every night plus beef or belly pork, but if you get tired of the menu – once again try SYP'S next door. They have steaks, lamb, beef and all wonders of fish and try the garlic roast potatoes – it's like eating heaven.
The rooms are adequate and lets face it, you are out all day in the pool or at the beach next door and only use the room to shower and change at evening mealtime and going to bed at night.
The entertainment has improved a lot and there is usually something on 4 or 5 nights a week.

Hotel Ground loveley, no entertainment at night, food same every day ok if you like burgers for lunch. Did not cater for vegies food got better second week of stay. Some of the rooms could do with a lick of paint and good clean. Staff ok when you had been there a few days. I did like the place but I think it should be rated as a 2 star not 3 compared with other 3 star all inclusives that I have stayed at before. Tobago is a lovery place and well worth the visit and people are very friendly, I would go back to tropikist if they made some improvements to the place.
