Oops! I Lost The Heading --answer To Judith About The Hilton   13 Dec 2004

Cornelia Montgomery from United States

Hi, Judith,

We've stayed at the Hilton a couple of times and are headed back in February. The hotel is quite a way from the main road -- there's a golf course between the two. Taxis from the hotel to most nearby restaurants in Crown Point and down Shirvan Road toward the Courlan/Grafton will cost you US$10 each way. The hotel offers a free shuttle between the hotel and Pigeon Point. Renting a car will cost about US$55 a day, plus or minus.

We've always been happy with our rooms -- all have a view, although the ones on the ground floor probably have less of one than on floors two and three. The rooms come equipped with minirefrigerators, coffee and tea makers, cable TV (if you really need it), irons and boards, inroom safe, etc. The bathrooms have separate tubs and shower stalls. There are 3 pools (maybe 4), one that's quite big with a swimup bar.

You may want to know that you can have lunch at the golf clubhouse (or at least you could last year), where a very good flying fish sandwich is served. I think there's a shuttle to the golfclubhouse.

The hotel has never been crowded when we've been there, but that could change. If you're a shade lover like we are and the pool umbrellas get taken, just drag a loungechair under one of the oceanfront trees for shade.

The hotel has a breezy location. The wind has never been a problem for us, as it is cooling when the temperature inland is 90 degrees and humid. Let me know if you have questions -- I might be able to answer them!

Any Recent Comments   13 Dec 2004

Judith from Ireland

Hi there. My husband and I are staying at the Hilton from Jan 3rd, 2005, for 2 weeks. It's our first time in the Carribean. And we're from Ireland, so it's a bit of a hike for us. Most of the posts on this thread were made quite a while ago. Does anyone have any recent experiences of the hotel? Is January a busy time? Would you recommend hiring a car for the stay? Does anyone have any other handy tips about the island and how to make our Carribean debut very special?

We're travelling Virgin, btw and luckily enough, it's a direct flight from London for us. Has anyone travelled this flight before?

is there anyone...out....there....lol!

Hilton Hotel   22 Sep 2004

Terry & Kirsty Betts from Broadstairs, Kent, UK

We've just returned from a wonderful holiday in Tobago – we stayed at the Hilton and it deserved every one of its 5 stars.

The Staff were fantastic, the rooms were superb, and the food (although we only ate in the Coral Reef) was exquisite.

As the weather was so hot (having just missed the passing of Ivan), the cooling breeze from the Atlantic was a big plus.

We have stayed in a number of good Caribbean Hotels (Sam Lords, Royal Antiguan, Almond Beach, Sea Breeze) but this was the best!!!

Hilton And Children   08 Jul 2004

Jenny C from England

We're considering a holiday in Tobago and were planning to use up some Hilton points for part of our stay. However we have daughter who'll be three when we go and I was a little concerned at a comment in the Coco Reef children debate that the Hilton was not a child oriented hotel. The Thomas Cook brochure recommends it as being particularly family friendly. Does anyone have any experience of this? We're not bothered about kids clubs but it would be nice if there were other children around for our daughter to play with.

Hilton - Whay Is Included With "all Inclusive"   05 May 2004

Juliette White from Jersey Channel Islands

Hi – can anyone who has visited the Hilton explain exactly what is and is not inlcuded with "All inclusive". Every travel web site I visit has a different definition. Are some restaurants excluded or just menu items ? what drinks do they really exclude.

Great site by the way.
