Guest Report - Castara Retreats Apartments
Michael Rogers from U.K. visited in May 2008 and awarded
We stayed at the Hummingbird apartment at Castara Retreats for 10 days and would have liked to stay longer. The apartment was well equipped and we especially appreciated the little welcoming touches ( cold beers in the 'frig ). The view from Hummingbird was fantastic , hard to imagine a better aspect. The birds were a constant delight and the gardens colourful. We were well looked after by Porridge and Jeanell , nothing was too much trouble. We liked the transit showers and lockers which were ideal for the period between checking out and leaving for the airport.
For a laid-back , relaxing but never boring holiday Castara Bay is hard to beat and Castara Retreats the perfect place to stay.

Awesome Trip

Just got back from an awesome week at Castara Retreat. We stayed at Birdsong with my wife and my 13 year old daughter. From the moment we arrived at the Retreat, we knew we made a great decision. Porridge picked us up at the airport and was really a genuinely great host. We rented a car from him for a few days and went diving in Speyside and the trip there was gorgous. We took a trip thru the rain forest which was wonderful. The villagers are all very friendly and we made some great friends with the locals. Birdsong is a unique place with a wide open view of the sea and beach. The birds kept us entertained and were beautiful. If you are looking for a pampering and a lot of tourists I suggest you stay near the airport in a hotel, but if you want to get away from it all and relax with the family in a gorgous spot then Castara Retreats is the place. We hated to leave!!!

We have just returned from a fantastic stay at Castara Retreats and as many previous visitors have said the accomodation was great and truly up to expectations their website was correctin every way, everything needed was there, fab views, wonderful birds and beautiful gardens, Porridge and Jeanelle were great, very attentive and helpful as were all working at Castara Retreats.
We enjoyed very much our days spent in the village and on the beach, meeting the locals and having a lime, eating at our top restaurant Marguerite's, prawns are to die for cooked by Sherwin, crab and dumplings were a bit of a challenge but very tasty.
Our congratulations to Sue and Steve the owners they have made a wonderful haven for us holiday makers who appreciate very much the hard work that has been put into building a "Heaven on a Hill".

Our Wedding At Castara Retreats Tobago
Suzanne Wheeler from U.K. visited in December 2007 and awarded
We visited Castara Nov/Dec 2007, taking our family and friends with us to celebrate our wedding.....
We simply could not have found a more perfect place to get married or indeed, a more able team to assist us than that of Porridge and Jeanelle.
The retreats are fantastic, the island is fantastic and the people the warmest, kindest people you will ever meet.
Unfortunately we are unable to return in 2008 as we had already booked our holiday, but will definately return in 2009.
Thanks to Sue and Steve for creating a truly special place, huge thanks to Porridge and Jeanelle for making this the best two weeks of our lives so far.........

Christmas & New Year
Stephanie from U.K. visited in December 2007 and awarded
We stayed in Coasthangar Lodge which is a beautiful house overlooking the bay from both sides. It has two outdoor decking areas, each with a different view. We cannot fault the accommodation or the welcome we received – we found everybody in Tobago that we encountered was friendly and helpful – particularly those at Castara. Porridge even visited us when we were ill and made us bush tea!! We had a wonderful Christmas and New Year and our 15th wedding anniversary.
We would whole-heartedly recommend Castara Retreats to people looking for a special place to spend some time. The only downside is the very loud music which base beats its way into your sub-conscious, it's so persistent. If you like loud music you will be fine! I do not mean that the music is being played at Castara Retreats but because of the acoustics of the bay, you can't really get away from it. We met plenty of people who felt that the music being played on the beach and in the village was a positive thing! They like to dance the night away. That's fair enough, each to his own, but to us it was a downside.
