Einmaliger Ort Mit Ganz Liebenswürdigen Gastgebern
Luciano Lippmann from Switzerland visited in December 2006 and awarded
Allow me to write my report in German.

Tropical Heaven

Staying with Mark and Zena is certainly a unique exprience. Unfortunately we only stayed for one night, but we are going back in January! They could not have been more helpful – picking us up from the airport, taking us to Bacolet beach and Scarborogh, anything we wanted, nothing was too much trouble.
You are treated as friends, eating and drinking in their large open living room, looking out on the rainforest. We too were treated to the sight of motmots eating fruit at breakfast.
We certainly endorse everything said by the two previous reviewers and we are looking forward to returning, to relax and also go on one or two of Mark's rainforest walks.

Heart Of Tobago
Andy & Claire Lees from U.K. visited in September 2006 and awarded
Mt. Pellier Cottages is a fantastic jungle retreat in the heart of Tobago. The elevated rooms are lovingly crafted and situated on a hillside amongst the trees, with the most peacfull balconies you are ever likely to lounge on.
Mark and Zena are the perfect hosts. I guarantee you will feel very welcome and the food surpasses anything I encountered in Tobago's restaurants. Mark is passionate about is cooking and with his French / Tobago fusion recipies and organic produce (not to mention the Land Rover), he could be Tobago's answer to Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall.
From the cottages central location, you have easy access to many of Tobago's best beaches and attractions, to which you will be freely offered both advice and lifts.

Delightful One-of-a-kind Home
Valerie Wallace from U.S.A. visited in July 2006 and awarded
Marc & Zena are the most wonderful hosts in all of Tobago! They have a fabulous home that is probably the most unique on the Island, plus they make a real effort to make you feel like a very special guest. You get delicious meals, chauffering 'round, plus inside tips on local culture and customs.
We wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy Marc's wonderful cooking, the fabulous view, the drinks before dinner with great conversation...and our 'room' – which was really our own little retreat and gave us the feel of being in the middle of the rainforest. We were surrounded by lush greenery & beautiful birding, away from the hustle and bustle of town, although in reality just a 10 minute hike (or ride in Marc's land rover) from Scarborough's city center.
Our place was quite pretty and the perfect setting to relax after a long day of boating & hiking. The lodges are nestled into the property, and then each one is decorated with hand-carved wood/mosaic furniture and of course there is the big comfy bed! We had a deck we could use even when it rained. It's very private, yet if you feel like it, you walk down a little connecting path to Marc & Zena's inviting, large, open kitchen/living room which also faces the forest. The whole place feels like the best combination of treehouse/cottage/nature retreat/pampered life.
Mt Pelier is easily worth the price and we will definitely stay here again.

An Amazing Time..
Elin Ritter from U.K. visited in October 2005 and awarded
What an amazing time we had, I'll never forget it. Seems like I have been here for a month an not just 9 days. Have been to many beaches. Our favorite is Stonehaven, saw some giant waves. Mark took us on an amazing waterfall hike, climbing rocks up the river in the rain forest.
Au Revoir!
Elin & Tarrel xx
