A bit like putting our holiday photos in an album I cannot believe it has taken us 5 months to post our review of the best place we've ever stayed in the carribean. Hugh I apologise for our tardiness – what an amazing place and what a wonderful host. Hugh is fantastic, nothing is ever too much trouble for him. The villa is beautiful and the grounds immaculate. My son loved getting up early to paint all the beautiful things surrounding us. I really hope we will be able to return we loved top o tobago, loved hugh and loved tobago!

Unfortunately we were not able to stay here after our disasterous one night at Cuffie River, this resort is absolutely stunning. If we come back to Tobago we will certainly stay here. The manager went far beyond his duty in helping us find different accommodation, he even lent us a copy of Trinidad & Tobago Lonely Planet (in a blonde moment I left our copy on the nightstand at home) to help with the rest of our vacation.

Fantastic Getaway!

My husband and I recently spent 8 glorious days at Top O'Tobago. It far exceeded our expectations. Booking over the internet is always a gamble, but everything I read about this place was true and then some. Hugh was invaluable as a guide, taking us on tours of the beaches close by, giving hints on what to do or where to go. Make sure he takes you to Highland Falls; what a beautiful reward after a short hike. The flora and fauna of Tobago are gorgeous and the weather absolutely perfect. Coming from Minnesota for relaxation, nothing beats the fresh squeezed orange juice every morning while sitting on the gazebo and listening to the birds. You will be greeted every day by Champ and Bandit, loveable german shepards, that make the rounds. They love to go on the hikes also! The snorkeling at Arnos Vale (free) was even better than the reef tour we took. We will definitely be back and hopefully stay longer than 8 days so we can really lime!

Another Wonderful Visit!

We have just returned from our 2nd visit to this breathtakingly beautiful place. The setting is really peaceful and quiet, with the most fabulous panoramic views, innumerable birds, and the gardens a riot of tropical colour. We love the way the place is landscaped on different levels. The swimming pool is crystal clear, always faultlessly maintained. So far we have only stayed in the cabanas which are well equipped and spotlessly clean, thanks to Suzanne, who comes in three days a week, and each has a gazebo at the back where you can relax, eat and drink without being overlooked. Hugh Baker, the Manager, is a most helpful host, offering to take you for walks and trips. However, he keeps a low profile, although he can always be contacted on his mobile, and he is excellent company, always followed by the faithful Champ and Bandit. These German Shepherds would certainly deter any intruders, that's for sure, although they are big softies with visitors. A short (steep)stroll down to Arnos Vale leads to the beach for great snorkelling, where there are only a few people around. (Don't buy an expensive beer from the Arnos Vale Hotel bar which is close to the beach – take your own!) So ... if you're looking for a peaceful, romantic hideaway, Top O'Tobago is definitely the place, but it obviously makes a great location for friends/family get-togethers as well. We have returned to the UK in a cold snap, so we are already looking forward to our next winter visit to Top O'Tobago.

Me and my wife had a wonderful time staying in one of the cabanas of Top O' Tobago. The retreat is located in the midst of a tropical garden full of colorful birds and beautiful plants – far away from the hectic civilisation.
The cabanas are clean and spacious and offer all necessary equipment for a wonderful stay. We usually had breakfast on our own private patio in front of the cabana and went out to restaurants or beach bars for dinner.
The beaches in Tobago are a dream, but you will need a car to get there. The little beach below Top O' Tobago is very nice, but there are other ones you shouldn't miss.
The main house and pool are perfect for a lazy day away from the beach. Sharing the pool with the other guests was not a problem as there is enough space and little corners to hide away for some privacy.
I can definitely recommmend Top O' Tobago to those who are looking for a quiet and relaxing holiday close to nature and away from civilisation. Bring someone you really like and a lot of good books – and you'll have the time of your life.
