It Was A Great Holiday

It was great to stay in Alibiabas Sea Breeze. The appartements are very nice and we felt very good in beeing there. We very much appreaciated the free airport pick up. The view from the balcony is great and can not be better. We can recommend it to everybody who is looking for an appartement in Castara.
Amazing Views

I will never forget the views from the balcony at the Seabreeze. We found the owners to be very helpful when we needed a couple of favours. The apartments are "eccentric" according to my husband. I would have preferred that our apartment be cleaner--there was stuff splattered on the wall and lots of cobwebs on the netting on the bed. However, my hubby didn't notice these things. His only complaint was that the water pressure in the shower was not very strong. Even with the couple of disappointments, we loved our time at Ali-Baba's. And we absolutely loved Castara.
A Wonderful Spot To Wind Down

We were met after a horrendous XL flight at about 2 am (some 8 hours late) by Mendales one of the drivers employed by Brian.
Our first view from the balcony of "Turtle" was some 5 hours later and what a sight to behold.Wonderful views of both bays in Castara and pelicans diving for fish nearby.The apartment was comfortable and more than adequate for our needs and it was kept to a good standard of cleanliness with fresh towels/bed linen every few days.
We were visited by many birds during our 2 week stay and whilst far from being "twitchers" this was a good reason to get out of bed at a sensible time.
We found we were in bed most nights before 10 and up before 6.
The restaurants in Castara provide an adequate if somewhat limited menu (a bit like a holiday in Greece) and after 2 weeks we were running out of options.
The locals are extremely obliging and our hosts Brian and Stephanie couldn`t have been more helpful.
We arranged through them an Island tour (again with Mendales) and a rain forest hike with Jackson who was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable.
The Island tour was very comprehensive and we certainly came away convinced we were in the best resort and the best situation within that resort.
We have many happy memories to treasure of our trip to Tobago and may well return when we have completed our list of places still to visit.

Guest Report - Alibaba's Sea Breeze

We stayed at Alibaba's end Jan 2008. Agree with all the positive comments from other reviewers. Disagree with the negatives, although accept that the bug count may be high later in the year, we never saw one.
We've stayed in a large number of places over the years, including four other caribbean islands, We have always looked for somewhere different to visit. Not anymore!
We're returning to Alibaba's in Jan 2009 for two weeks, as we think Tobago, Castara and Alibaba's the ultimate destination. Enough said!

Fantastic Apartments 30 Jan 2008

We booked these apartments on the basis of the many good reviews they've got. We wern't to be disappointed 
On our arrival, after being driven by one of Brian's drivers, Mendalez, we met Steff who showed us eveything we needed to know.
What can you say about the location? What a fantastic view of the bay. The sound of the sea every morning, with the tweeting of the birds, truly heaven 
The apartment (Turtle) had everthing we required, big bed with Mosquito net, cooker, fridge, crockery, pans, fans etc.. Also a decent shower. You've all the basics you need. Speaking to Brian, he says hopefully sometime this year, there will be some improvments to the apartments, in the form of larger fridges etc.. (the three smaller apartments having only a small freezer up top which can be frustrating when you want loads of ice!) There may be further decking out from the verandas giving more space.
Even if there were no improvements we would highly recommend Alibabas Seabreeze. Whilst we were in Castara we looked at other accommodation and we felt we had the best place there
We'll be in Castara soon and will want to stay at Alibabas again, and we know we'll have to book early because everybody wants in!
