Guest Report - Bananaquit

Angus Wood-Salomon from Canada visited in August 2006 and awarded  Five out of Five

Fantastic, we stayed in the large front room that had a large nook that could sleep about 10 people, it also has a bedroom with A/C on the main floor, plus a kitchenet with stove and fridge plus all the utensils necessary.

It was very close to the beache (Store Bay), 10 min walk but most of all the Bests were great hosts.

We were able to rent a vehicle just opposite where we were and there were a lot of food outlets availble.

We enjoyed so much that we always recommend it to our family and friends in Trinidad and Canada.

Great Place To Stay

Matthew Cameron from U.S.A. visited in March 2006 and awarded  Four out of Five

This was our second year staying at the Bananaquit. It is located in walking distance from the airport, local restaurants, Store Bay, and even Pigeon Point (however a little hike). The owners of this apartment style hotel are extremely friendly and very nice. Our rooms were always very clean, and for the money you really cant beat it. If you are looking for a 5 star, luxury hotel, with maids that wait on you hand and foot this is not the place. If you need something go ask for it and it will be provided with a smile. They are always booked so make your reservations early, both time that we have stayed at the Bananaquit they had repeat customers like ourselves, and from I am told by the people that stay there and the owners, the majority of their customers are repeat business. Last year we went with five people, and this year four. Both times having more than enough room. We will be back again next year, as we love our Bananaquit.

Convenient Place To Stay In Crown Point Area

Julia D from U.K. visited in August 2005 and awarded  Three out of Five

I stayed here on my first 2 nights in Tobago. The Bananaquit is very conveniently located for the airport (within easy walking distance, depending how much luggage you have!) and a 5 minute walk to Store Bay. Our room was large and clean, with a/c, kitchen, eating area (both inside and outside), bathroom and tv. Most of the rooms are set around a lovely little garden and guests are able to use the swimming pool at the neighbouring hotel. The lock on our door was broken, but fixed very efficiently while we were at the beach.

What A Wonderful Place   27 Apr 2006

Angus Wood-salomon from Canada

My wife, daughter, son in law, grandson of 2 1/2 years and I just spent three great days here from April 19th to 21st. The Best's were fantastic hosts and did everything in their power to accomodate us.

We were privileged to stay in the very spacious upstairs apartment that included a kitchenette, living room, a bedroom with a double bed and A/C, plus a very large bedroom in the loft that had another double bed and two single beds, this bedroom is so large that if needed another single or double bed could be added with room to spare.

This apartment faced the main road and on the main floor, it has a large verandah where we ate our meals and spent most of our time when we were there. The Kitchenette had all of the cooking utensils that were needed, dishes, cups, saucers glasses as a matter of fact everything like home.

I surely felt privileged to stay at such a wonderful place, we definitely will be back.

Bananaquit Apartments....any Info Please

Lorrie Ross

Will be traveling to TOBAGO for the first time (arrive in the morning of the 7th Feb.)

I have been to lots of sites trying to be prepared....we would like to stay at a few spots....but because we arrive on the first day of Carnival....

we booked for a few nights at the Bananaquit. The site I found this place on showed pics of the room, and it seemed quite nice. I talked to the lady (Elaine Best) and she seemed very nice. It is close to beaches, and stores...so until we get familiar with surroundings, I thought this place would be nice. Would appreciate any info on the place :P thanks

Also, I would like to know what would be an inexpensive treat to take along to give to people and children we meet...what have you heard that they would like? (being from Canada, when I was in Mexico, the children liked Canadian stickers, pins, and gum.)

Any feedback on this would be great! :D
