Blue Waters Inn - Reader Reports & Opinion
Guest Report - Blue Waters Inn

Blue Waters Inn is located in a truly beautiful, unspoilt position in the NE of Tobago, directly opposite Little Tobago island. The hotel is well appointed, with an exclusive location on a beautiful, very quiet beach. The bedrooms are simply furnished, and well maintained. Facilities and restaurants are very good, but not luxurious.
There is an excellent diving centre adjoining the hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful. This is an idyllic place to enjoy the unspoilt Caribbean scenery, (the real Caribbean, not the western commercial version),nature, and birdlife. It is not a glitzy, sophisticated resort, but this is a huge benefit, not a disadvantage, in our opinion. We would certainly visit again.

Super Situation, Disappointing Service And Food.
David Tomlinson from U.K. visited in February 2007 and awarded
Blue Waters has an idyllic situation, while we were encouraged to find our room had recently been revamped. However, the restaurant was extremely disappointing. We had our worst dinner in Tobago here, and the breakfasts were also poor. The tennis court was barely playable, while the bird feeders were neglected. The service wasn't too good, either. The manager's Friday evening free drinks have been dropped, though there was a note in our room telling us all about them. Plenty of room for improvement.

We stayed at Blue Waters Inn because that's where the UK birding company
I usually travel with stays. We were interested in the endemic birds of
Tobago and assumed this would give us easier access to the forests and
offshore islands we planned to visit.
Our room was of reasonable standard, the staff friendly and the food
of an acceptable standard.
The beach and beach facilities were run down and could benefit from
a general clean-up and maintenance programme.
The high cost of tourism in Trinidad and Tobago means long-distance
travellers probably make it a once only destination.
Our favourite destination is undoubtedly Aisa Wright's Nature Reserve and
we wished we had stayed there for the whole three weeks!!
We found your guide interesting and informative but didn't actually choose
anything from it.

Great place to relax – the staff and locals were really friendly and most welcoming. We stayed in one of the bungelows and thought it was fantastic. If you want a dress for dinner/evening entertainments/busy bustling place – dont come here, but if you want to get to know the real Tobago – then I couldnt recommend it more.

Poor Service At Blue Water
Tracey Snoxell from U.K. visited in July 2006 and awarded
Apalling service and attutude of staff. At one meal time our party of 4 was made to feel like we should not be there. We asked for a menu for the restaurant at 8.0o and asked what time it was open until. We were told 9 pm. When our meal was delivered to the bar and we queried it we were met with a bad attitude – you should have siad! It was our friends birthday the next evening and I am so glad we decided to spend it at Speyside not Blue Water. We were much more welcome and comfortabe at Speyside Inn.
