Birdie's Nest - Reader Reports & Opinion
A Fantastic Place And The Best Host!
Goetz Hoefken from Germany visited in April 2007 and awarded
My wife and I spent two fantastic weeks at birdies nest in April 2007. Our apartment (downstairs, beachfront) was spacious, well equipped and absolutely clean. The house is in a perfect beachfront location, so that you can always hear the waves crashing. A few turtles layed their eggs at the beach in the nights during our vaccation (one directly in front of birdies nest!). We found their tracks in the sand when we walked along the bay. Sometimes the sea at "our" beach was too rough to swimm, but Crafton beach is within walking distance and there was swimming and playing in the waves every day possible. The last days we were the only guests at Birdies Nest and allowed to use the recently built patio, which belongs to the absolutely gorgeous upper apartment. This is really the perfect place to chill and relax.
But the best of birdies nest is undoubtedly the host Prince Robinson. He and his mother are very amiable people and always helpful. Prince picked us up at the Airport (and carried us back two weeks later), gave us some good advice where to go and what to view and tooked us more than one time to the supermarket. In addition, he is not only a excellent host but also a very good tour guide. He took us one day to a wonderful tour all around the island. We saw all the famous beaches, villages and waterfalls. Even a snorkeling and a boot tour was included.
So, altogether we highly recommend it to everyone planning a tobago vaccation beside the mass tourism.
Thank you again for everything Prince!!!

Very Pleasant Idylllic Beach Front Location
Shawn Scott from U.K. visited in April 2007 and awarded
My wife and I and our two children spent a memorable week at Birdie's Nest in April 2007. We took a one-bed apartment downstairs as the wonderful two-bed apartment upstairs had been booked. The accommodation was pleasant and comfortable – air condition was a delightful benefit, given the temperature at this time of year. The house is in an idyllic beach front location – it was great to hear the waves crashing and be able to stroll on the beach so close to the house. The sea at Black Rock can be wild and is risky to swim in. However, a rock formation has created a pool which provides a safe area for children to play in and to explore the rock pools for small fish and crabs.
The beach was a short walk from Turtle Beach, and we spent a couple of nights doing turtle watches to help the local environmentalist in his work to protect leatherbacks from being killed by poachers. Princess and Prince Robinson were very helpful. I was astounded that Prince was only 22 yet displayed such good customer care, busines skills, and hospitality. Any issue he knew of he went out of his way to provide the solution, such as providing me with a mobile phone until I sorted my phone out. On my son's birthday, Prince insisted on providing ice cream – being a bank holiday most shops were closed and he drove nearly across the island just to get the ice cream. He brought over his young cousins to join my son for his birthday cake and celebration. It is difficult to think what Prince would not do to make guests happy.
Birdie's Nest is an excellent choice for a beach front holiday location away from the main tourist traps.

Excellent Accomodation In A Guest House.
Anton Balfour from Trinidad visited in April 2007 and awarded
This is an excellent beach front hideaway from the hustle and bustle of the Town "as if Tobago is a buzzy place". this schenic hideout is stragecially located close to a naturally forming oceanic pool which provides a wonderful night spot for swimming.
this I must say has been the best Guest house I have stayed at and my Fiance loves ambiance of the rooms.
Thanks for the hospatility and the wonderful weekend.

One Of The Best Guesthouses To Stay At Tobago
Peter + Maren from Germany visited in March 2007 and awarded
We fully agree with the other review further down.
Now it is more than one month ago that we spent a few gorgeous days in Black Rock. We still remember the cordial welcome of our host Prince at the port of Scarborough where he picked us up.
We had never a guesthouse so close to the beach before. Just a
few steps to the south end of the Great Courland Bay.
The rooms were nice and very tidy and the mattresses are not too soft. So we slept very well. A super market is in walking distance and the kitchen is well equiped.
In the evening we received a lot of good advises what we should not miss on the island.
So if you want to relax and to see beautiful sun sets in the evening, Birdies Nest is one of the best places to stay in Tobago.
