With a large open plan living room, dining room and kitchen area, and folding doors that retract to take you out on to a spacious pool deck, Joie de Vivre offers seamless indoor and outdoor living making it the perfect villa for a family holiday or as we say in Trinbago 'ah bess lime'.
The blue-tiled infinity pool is calming just to look at so imagine when you're in it – you won't want to get out. And a villa holiday just isn't a holiday without a poolside BBQ; a stainless steel BBQ pit is provided for you to get your grill on.
There are five air conditioned bedrooms all with ensuite bathrooms. There is one bedroom on the ground floor and the other four are located on the first floor. Three of these bedrooms lead out to the upstairs wrap-around verandah which offers a spectacular view of the famous Buccoo Reef and Pigeon Point further beyond.
Joie de Vivre is designed for you to enjoy as much of the fresh tropical breeze as possible and so there is also a large dining and living space on the verandah as well which is accessible directly from the kitchen below making it easy for you to take advantage of the alfresco dining option.
Within walking distance is the Mt. Irvine Golf Course for the golf enthusiasts and Mt. Irvine Beach where you'll find services such as water sport equipment rental, boat charters, surfing lessons and two full beach bars offering local and international cuisine and of course that much-needed holiday cocktail.

My cousins and I stayed at Joie de Vivre for a weekend, Friday to Sunday, and found the place to be generally quite lovely. I'll start with the positives. The villa is beautiful. It is well designed, very spacious, the doors and windows allow for a very comfortable, breezy atmosphere, and the furniture is comfortable.
The upstairs porch and pool deck are also very relaxing and attractive.
The pool itself is amazing! It is very large - probably about 50ft in length and about 17ft wide. We really had a wonderful time in the pool.
The location is a very secure one - and the view from the villa is also spectacular.
On the down side, I'd say one of the things that I would mention is that the doors to the villa are very attractive, becuase there are alot of glass panes. However the type of locks on the doors are those that can be opened easily if a person quietly knocks or breaks the glass and has access to it. So I would prefer to have had deadbolts on the doors. There is a very good functioning security alarm which we set off twice by accident, and the security company called right away. So that in a way makes up for that.
In addition, one of the a/c just happened to be non-functional on the night we arrived, and though the villa rental company promised to send a person to repair it the very next day, they didn't come. It wasn't a big deal to us, but just something in principle that should be mentioned.
All in all, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place, and once you're fine with the extra glass in the doors and so on, you'll love this place, trust me - even though I thought there was some room for improvement.

A group of us went to Tobago after carnival to relax unwind and stay for a week. The villa is beautiful, the photos give an accurate picture of what to expect of the villa. The housekeeper and pool man were very friendly and helpful. I have been to Tobago before but thoroughly enjoyed the accommodation this time. I would return to the same villa, the sea views are amazing. The only small criticism is the windows. They do not have nets and can't completely close so you're often bombarded with mosquitoes which were unpleasant and slightly annoying. You definitely need a car; however the nearest beach is a short 5mins walk away.
