After spending a week in Castara we moved to black rock. WE don't drive and thought we should see what Tobago was like a bit further south. It was a little difficult to find the apartment but a phone call to Liz and all was well. The apartment was clean and set in it's own mini rainforest. Liz has been nurturing the garden and it's lovely. Lots of birds, bats and mammals visit. As it's a much flatter area we were able to venture in a different direction most days on foot. Sitting on the beach is not really our thing but I have to say that both Grafton and Courland are fabulous. We tend to self cater and there are two small shops in the village for absolute basics. really you need to shop on the way from the airport. Liz and Lindsay are very generous hosts and seem to do all they can to see you get the most from your visit. We could have got the local bus which does a circular run Scarborough through black rock, Plymouth and crown point.A couple of small restaurants and bars were a short walk up the road. The locals were friendly and we really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to go back.

This was our second visit to these apartments. The apartments are well equipped (including refrigerator, gas stove and basic kitchen utensils), comfortable and with air conditioning. The garden is a delight, and we could relax on the terrace and enjoy watching the birdlife attracted to the rustic birdfeeders outside each apartment. We saw bananaquits (sugarbirds), tanagers, red crowned woodpeckers, mocking birds, antshrikes while cocricos fed in the palm tree and humming birds flitted around the garden attracted to the humming bird feeders. There were occasional sights of birds of prey such as the yellow-headed caracara. The small meadow area next door attracts butterflies was full of butterflies. This is a haven for nature lovers.

Only about 20 minutes from the airport, access to a car is useful to get around the island but Grafton beach, which is excellent for swimming, is just 5 minutes walk by way of a shortcut. There is a small supermarket at the top of the road for essentials. Legger's bar serving grilled lobster on Wednesday evenings was a bargain.

Generally quiet (apart from the cocracos squabbling over the best perch), Carnival time (as on our last visit) tends to be noisy. Pop the top on a bottle of Carib or Stag and just join in. This is a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy the life and feel of Tobago, away from the main tourist areas.

This is my absolute 'go to place' to stay in Tobago. Thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful private verandah that I had my morning coffee on- watching all the birds visit on the homemade bird feeder- all enclosed with a beautiful tropical garden. These accommodations are self contained, air conditioned, private and set inside a beautifully landscaped garden type setting. The small details given to each apartment makes the world of difference to a weary traveler. Liz, Vern and Barry are exceptional people who go beyond the norm to make your stay a very enjoyable one. Prices are extremely reasonable and I highly recommend to anyone wanting privacy, mother nature and welcoming hosts! Will be back for sure.

My friend Dee and I have been going to Tobago for many years, sometimes three times a year. When we discovered Lindsay Apartments in September 2012, we found a little slice of paradise and since that time there is absolutely no other place for us to stay.

The apartments are clean, comfortable and well equipped for self service. If you're seeking privacy, peace and a feeling of safety, then look no further. Everything you need, including the beach, is within close proximity.

Our very warm welcome first from Maggie and Barry, then the pleasure of meeting the owners, Liz and Auldwyn Lindsay...we can say without a doubt that they are some of the nicest and most genuine people we've ever met.

We recommend Auldwyn Lindsay Apartments without reservation.

I would highly recommend staying at these apartments. The rooms were excellent and the location was very quiet. The attention to detail and the help they provided during my stay made this extremely helpful and I felt right at home during my visit to Tobago. There are plenty of places to visit close by and the beaches close to the apartment are amazing. Make sure you get to know these people as they are top notch and while you are there have Barry cook a meal for you as you will not regret that.
