What a way to spend the new year and what a place to spend it in,The bijou des caraibes is definitely the place to spend your holiday whether it be as a couple or a small family like ours.We really did unwind as a family at this lovely place,The main reason being was the way it is run,This is mainly due to the superb lady and her fantastic husband and son that really go out of there way to make your stay memorable. Our two bedroom apartment was really ample for us,Especially for our baby son Tommy who had plenty of space in the apartment,The actual perimeter of the villa is surrounded in lush floral beauty which is really refreshing to look at and also the pool is just about right to have that nice evening dip. This was our second trip to tobago so it was even better than the first as we brought our two children with us.I will round it up with one word FANTASTIC.

We stayed with Judy, Ivonne and their son at Bijou de Caraibes for two weeks at the beginning of 2008 and absolutely loved it. The place itself provided everything one could hope for: beautiful gardens, a clean pool, daily maid service, comfortable rooms and a good location. It was only a twenty minute walk through a golf course to three stunning, quiet beaches (Grange was the best for the mornings and Mt. Irvine was best for the afternoons because of sun location) and close enough to Bucoo to stumble home from Sunday School. However, the aspect that made this trip truly amazing was our wonderful host Judy along with her charming family. Judy constantly went out of the way for us: taking us to the grocery store, the bank, sometimes dropping us at the beach, inviting us out for drinks, entertaining us with her hilarious stories, offering endless advice about where to go, how to do it and who to do it with. Judy really made us feel like family and such personal interest in our vacation truly made the difference. She even took it upon hersef to find Lindsay's earring that she lost on the road at the end of a late night BBQ at Bijou! How she found it in the dark is beyond us! Judy and her family run an excellent guesthouse that should be a model for guesthouses everywhere. Thanks so much Judy!!!!

We Ďve just returned after spending two lovely weeks in one of the apartments Judy and Yvon Gemnet offer under the roof of there big house on there estate, Bijou des Caraibes.
To be short, it was perfect!
The location is perfect, lots of space, silence, only to be broken by birds (and our two year old son Sam. Sorry, in case someone noticed....), beautiful colourful garden and a wonderful clean pool.
Above that, the perfect hostess! Judy threats her guest as if they all are royals.
Whether you need a mobile phone or an extra towel. One word is enough and she got it arranged straight away.
Staying at Bijou des Caraibes means staying with Judy and Yvon. One night they invited the guests and neighbours to a barbecue party in the garden. Like a true cook, Yvon handled the food with flair while Judy overloaded her guests and friends with her warmth and interest in all.
We rented the two bedroom apartment during the Christmas period. Itís spacious, comfortable and serviced like being in a hotel (every day cleaning, fresh towels and bed linen). According to our standards, the apartment was all we needed. Air-conditioned, separate bedrooms, large shower, room enough to play with his toys for Sam and a well equipped kitchen. For us, this was the perfect place to spent our holiday and the perfect location to start all our trips. And most of all, the pool was our perfect place to entertain Sam after spending a day on the beach, on a boat or after a visit to one of Tobagoís highlights.
After seven visits to Tobago, several times at Sherwood Park apartments, staying at Judyís and Yvonís place was a good choice. Donít get me wrong, Sherwood Park is still a very good place to be. This time however, with a two year old who feels like he owns the world, now he can run, climb and tries to take off every time he gets the change, the secure surroundings, the grills in front of the doors, the fact that there is a separate bedroom and the fact that the apartment is situated on the lower floor (perfect with kids, no balcony), made Bijou des Caraibes the right choice.
Sherwood Park is still one of our favourites. Bijou des Caraibes is now added on that list too.
We can highly recommend everyone to stay at Judyís. We don't think you will ever find more hospitable people than Judy and Yvon.
Judy and Yvon, thank you very much for having us. Sam is asking us when we go visit Judy again. So, when itís up to us, we will definitely visit you again.
Till next time

I have just returned from a wonderful holiday at Bijou des caraibes. Tobago is a beautiful island but it was the warm welcome and hospitality of judy, her family and staff that made it truely memorable. I stumbled across the listing for bijou by chance and was quite impressed by the reports of previous guests, I'm glad to say the reports were accurate.
The location was ideal, with stunning views of Buccoo reef and a well maintained garden and pool. It's a three minute drive to the nearest beach, but as you will need to hire a car to get the most out of Tobago, this is hardly an inconvienience. Judy was always available for advice and a chat and teated us like family throughout our stay, i can wholeheartedly recommend Bijou des caraibes and hope to return in the future.
