Boatview - Reader Reports & Opinion

This was our first stay in Castara, hopefully the first of many. The surroundings are beautiful, which matches the nature of the people.

Sharon was a welcoming and friendly host. The accommodation was simple, however, far more than adequate. Boatview must have one of the best views of the bay, which provided many lovely evenings.

Sharon also owns the Boatview restaurant which is really reasonably priced and provided many a great meal/night.

If you do decide to stay here and visit their restaurant try the chilli prawns and the delicious coconut bake.

Nearby boat trips (see Michael around and about) are also very memorable even when puncheon rum's involved.

Best holiday weve ever had and will definetly return soon.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

My wife and I made a last minute decision to spend the weekend in Tobago and after sending off a few e-mails to a few guest houses, Sharon was most accommodating.

Their location was excellent and their view of the bay was breathtaking.

What my wife enjoyed most was the sound of the waves crashing onto the shore as she 'relaxed'. The water is was also very clean and mostly calm.

What my wife didn't like was that the shower head seemed to be clogged and the water didn't come out as hard as she would have liked. However, that would not deter us from going back as we plan to be back soon.

Sharon's hospitality was an A+!

Boatview - A real hidden treasure

Four of us, Mom and three grown kids, rented two rooms at Boatview for four nights. It was perfect for us, close to the beach, clean, the beds were very comfortable, the view was great. The restaurant was so good we didn't even try anywhere else for dinner. It was great to watch the fishermen from our balcony, and have local birds visiting the trees around it. There were too many waves for good snorkeling when we were there, but there is coral right off the beach in front of Boatview, or you can walk or swim to the larger beach. We played in the waves instead.

We had a wonderful time here. The view is spectacular and I have never slept better listening to the waves, the perfect temperature, and total relaxation. The bed was very comfortable and everything was just what we needed. Thank you, Sharon. It was a dream and we hope to come back and bring more people with us! Even though it deserves to shared with everyone, I kind of want to keep it a secret so it never changes!

Really, really nice. There can't be many views in the world better than the view from the balcony of the Boatview.

My girlfriend and I stayed here in February. I'm not sure if these was busy season or quiet season, although I can't imagine it makes much difference as there were never more than 10 people on the beach at a time.

I think it's one of the cheaper places to stay in Castara, which is odd since it's right on the beach.

Beautiful. I'd definitely recommend it.
