Well worth the visit.

Very family/ or couples' getaway, oriented

Very well appointed villa

Excellent location on beachfront

All facilities within reach ( I advise that you have a vehicle)to move around Tobago

We wish that we could have stayed for a much longer time.

Very reasonable rate as compared to more well known /touted hotels/guest houses etc.

There are no negative issues/drawbacks, other than ,like us, you will not want to leave.

Book early !!

Darryl.

My husband and I just returned from a week-long stay at the Flamboyant suite at Black Rock Dreams.

This was our secong visit to Tobago. we stayed at Hibiscus Heights, owned by Gillian Connelly, last year.

Due to availability issues, Gillian suggested this suite. it was everything anyone could dream of and more.

Gillian was with us all the way. i had so many questions. She took care of everything wonderfully. When it comes to dealing with someone who is reliable, knowledgeable, professional, and friendly, you cannot beat Gillian.

The suite was large with breathtaking views of the sea and the sunset. There were all sorts of amenities. What I really liked was the 'take and leave', as I call it, concept. There were small things others left for futrue visitors to use which come in handy. At the same time, i left some things which might come in handy to future guests.

The suite was clean and secure. There is no need to fear for safety with the gated parking and alarm system.

There is so much to do on this island. we visited several beaches, waterfalls, and went diving with scuba adventures on Grafton Beach. this outfit cannot be beat! Talk with Johnny or Mikey. They are great!!

I cannot say enough about this visit. We will at sometime be back.

Thank you for everything, Gillian Connelly!!

We’ve just returned from a beautiful family vacation in Tobago. The Flamboyant suite was the perfect place to stay with our 3 kids - right on the beach and very comfortably furnished. The entire main living area (kitchen, dining and living room including the master bedroom) has huge windows facing the ocean with a view that is just breathtaking! There is a kitchen equipped with all the pots and utensils to cook your own meals, if you wish to. The 2nd bedroom has two single beds and the 3rd room has a futon that can be used as a bed as well. The 3 full bathrooms are all good sizes and there are enough bath and beach towels for a family of 5 with extras to spare! The unit is equipped with everything you could possibly need while on vacation. Two LCD TV’s, a washing machine and dryer, iron/ironing board, hair dryer and even a flashlight to go turtle watching at night and the list goes on and on. In other words... Flamboyant suite is fully furnished with lots of tasteful personal touches, which makes this apartment feel like a home away from home (a nice alternative to boring hotel rooms!) Enjoy watching the fisherman pulling in seine on an early morning or sit back and relax while watching the sunset right from your large balcony or the pool. There is an underground car park with gate and the suite has a safe and an alarm system for your comfort. We felt very safe there and never encountered any problems whatsoever.

As soon as you are finished checking out the inside of the suite... you must take a dip in the pool or the ocean – the water just looks so inviting! There is a small staircase that leads from the balcony to the pool. The pool area is like a tropical garden with flowering plants, palms and banana and lime trees and the entire grounds are very well taken care of. The pool itself is a bit small but in a perfect location overlooking the beach. Leave the garden area through a small gate and you are right on the beach where you can enjoy the crystal clear water of Stonehaven Bay. The beach is never crowded (not even on Easter weekend) and is a safe and quiet place to swim and relax.

The surrounding area of Pleasant Prospect/Blackrock has a couple of restaurants (some of them quite pricey) and a small mini mart. There are many reasonably priced, local food places in Crown Point and Scarborough, which are only a 15-20 minute drive away. I would definitely recommend getting a rental car for at least some of your stay so you can drive around the island to see many more beautiful things Tobago has to offer.

Now to the one and only down side we need to mention...

In April 2009 there was no Internet access in the suite and the telephone line was out of order. But upon arrival the very professional and helpful managers (Gillian and Paul) gave us a pre-paid cell phone that we used to make local and international calls. It can be topped up in most local stores and is quite reasonable and most likely much cheaper vs. using your cell phone from your home country.

Summary: We definitely recommend the Flamboyant Suite to singles, couples and families who are looking for a very clean, comfortable and lovely place right on the beach! The only thing you will regret is that your vacation is not longer!

Rest...relaxation...that Has Exotic Appeal   01 Apr 2010

Lindahli from Ohio

We stayed in Flamboyant Suite in January 2010. Our stay was delightful, rewarding and very relaxed. The suite itself...is quite lovely! The views are breathtaking and I couldn't have enjoyed the varanda anymore. Tobago is a place to escape to but if you enjoy exploring and learning as we all did, I encourage an exploration to the interior of the island. It was fascinating as we leanred about the local culture, the history and the natural environ. I always enjoyed coming back to our suite after a fun and interesting day. We cooked quite a bit in our suite. The kitchen is equipped with everthing from pots, pans to blender and dishwasher. The Pina Colada's that I made became a family favorite early on. Just up the road a bit there is a nice grocer, they appeared to carry a nice variety of gourmet items that enhanced our offerings on the table. We shopped locally at several fresh fish stands, we bought red snapper, parrot fish, mahi mahi just minutes out of the sea. I have never tasted anything so delicate!

Just outside the door fresh plantaine, banana, coconuts hang from the trees. We ate out for dinner only a couple of nights just for conveinence. We attended Sunday School at Buccoo every Sunday we were in Tobago and I felt sad to say goodbye, our last night there. We had BBQ chicken, potatoe pie, macoroni pie, slaw, salad at several different stands at Sunday School...everything was delicious. The presentation...artful! The people...loving, geniune and warm. If you love to dance, enjoy local culture, music..this is a MUST do! Just be careful where you park...as you can get pinned in drives bceause this is a well attended local street party! Wear comfortable shoes...and for goodness sakes..get up and DANCE!

I can literally go on and on...just remeber to respect people and you will have a grande time! Flamboyant Suite is lucky to have Chris...young man who lives on the premises. He was sincere, helpful and always a pleasure to talk with as we came and went. We were a bit overzealous whn it came to security and he was tolerant of any concern we had.

The Flamboyant Suite has a lovely sea facing view. As early as possible we would open ALL of the sliding glass doors to welcome in the fresh sea aire. It felt as if we were on the beautiful aquamarine Caribbean waters! If you enjoying watching the chickadee's, make sure to put a small piece of fresh bread in the bird feeder and add jsut a touch of the sugar cane. The birds...just go crazy for it!

We walked the beach at BlackRock, daily. It is a beautiful and quiet beach. If you want more in terms of water sports, a fun day in the sun with locals, tourists and activities..head down to Pigeon Point. There you will find a rather nice bar/restaurant on the beach...cover up if you go inside the restaurant. The food is excellent!

If you want to jetski, windsurf..etc..you'll find it all there.

Shore Bay is where most of the glass bottom boats depart and you'll definitely want to snorkel on the reef. We saw sea turtles, stingray, baby octopus and spectacular corals. I suggest a good under water camera! The Nylon Pool a must! You will not want to leave.

My least favorite place on the island was Scarborough. I encountered no problems....just too many cars, people and traffic. I personally wanted/needed to relax. I have enough of this back at home! I hope that my review has been helpful...take good care and remember when you arrive in TnT...time has a different meaning. Slow down...rest...relax and DO NOT forget to dance at least every night under the Cribbean moonlight. Feel the gentle breeze as it glides acrossed your sun kissed face!!
