Sandy Point Village - Reader Reports & Opinion
E-mail Address?-sandy Point Village
First of all, I'd like to say well done to Steve for such a superb informative website.
Myself and my girlfriend were trawling all-inclusive holidays to Cuba and the like, when we thought we would try to get some information on Tobago and other islands before we made the final decision.
Lucky we did eh?!?!
After seeing this website and its great level of detail, it really has twisted our arms to go to Tobago and we are now in the process of booking our flights and accommodation in the next few days for a 2 week DIY break starting 10th November, staying in Crown Point, Buccoo and Castara.
STEVE - I have a question please - we are attempting to book the Sandy Point Village for the first 4 days of the holiday (yes, I have seen the unfavourable reviews!) and I'm desperately trying to contact the place directly via email to book it up. However, the e-mail that I'm sending to them is constantly returned as undeliverable. Is it possible that you could please check the email address for me? Is it sometimes difficult to send emails to Tobago? The e-mail I'm using is from their own website and is: firstname.lastname@example.org
If it wasn't for this website we wouldn't be going, so Steve give yourself pat yourself on the back!
Sandy Point Village
We are finally here at Tobago. What a nice place. We're staying at Sandy Point Village and it's ok to stay there. The staff are friendly and helpful. When we arrived one of our twingirls started to throw up. She got some virus from a girl on the airplane. She kept throwing up for almost 24 hours. The day after the other girl threw up on the beach and one of the staff saw it and rang the doctor. He came and gave us an prescripion. We got it and the day after both girls were ok.
See you again
Good Points & Bad Points...
Me & my friend stayed here for two nights (20th & 21st March 2008) as our 1st hotel, Belleviste did not have room for us for a week....being easter and spring break...
Good points bout Sandy Point Village are the good pool, lovely grounds, spacious apartments...however there are some down sides. Some of the staff are less than helpful and I feel if we had spent the whole week here this would have been an issue. However, as we were only there for two nights it didnt bother us too much. We ate in the restaurant one night and found the food to be of a good standard and reasonably priced. The rooms were large and comfortable although I did take issue with the standard of the kitchen & bathroom. The bath was slightly leaky so we had a bit of a puddle on the bathroom floor and cleanliness was a bit of an issue. Kitchen utensils were limited and not so clean.
I would say the size & style of the apartment was better than our first place, Belleviste (right across the road) but if I had to choose I would pick Belleviste over Sandy Point.
It's Ok... 22 Feb 2010

We had read some horrible reviews on this place and arrived with nervous anticipation.
Sure, the check-in was more than laid back - some might call it lacking interest in the guest - but the apartment hotel itself was OK. Two star right?
We stayed in the Trini Wing - where the small pool is - and our room was very nice and clean. The kitchen was well equiped, the apartment was large in size, the bed comfortable, the AC fairly modern.
The bathroom could probably do with a refurb though. Clean but with a lot of ware and tear.
One of the two whirl pools outside were OOO but the pool felt clean and well kept.
Service was OK as well, as expected from a 2-3 star property.
OK, the place is close to the airport (the Trini wing is the closest) but I frankly didn't find it that disturbing and I'm not a heavy sleeper, more an average one, and besides... Most take off and landings took place before sleeping hours.
We simply didn't have any major problems while staying there.
