Sherwood Park Apartments - Reader Reports & Opinion
Good To Be Back
Toine & Lia
It almost 5.00 pm in Holland. It rains and itís cold. I feel miserable due to the weather, too much work and too little sleep. Surfing over the mytobago site gets my mood in a better state. Looking at pictures of the pool at Sherwood park, my mind wanders off and I see myself laying in a beach chair at the pool, my eyes closed, cool drink in my hand and just listening to the sound of the birds.....
Just a few weeks more and my dream will be reality. The seats are booked, the suite at Sherwood Park is booked.
Why Sherwood Park again??? Stay there and youíll know!
Lia and I are really looking forward to meet Andy, Marvin, Nigel and the rest of the staff, again. Last time we stayed at Sherwood Park, Lia was pregnant and got all the help in the world from the Sherwood staff. This time we would like to show them our little boy Sam. He will be 5 months old when we arrive. We are absolutely sure he will have a wonderful time. Why we know that for sure, is due to the fact that one of the owners of Sherwood Park, Fred Abbink, took personal care of all our questions about staying in Tobago with a baby and about the facilities at Sherwood. Fred even told us that whatever we need to accommodate Sam, Sherwood Park would provide. Try find that in a bigger organization.
So, all you lovely people at Sherwood Park, see you soon........

MY WIFE AND I VISITED SHERWOOD PARK FOR 2WEEKS FROM 20TH NOV. WE WERE MET AT THE AIRPORT BY NIGEL IN A TORRENTIAL DOWNPOUR AND A POWER CUT. HOWEVER THIS DID NOT DAMPEN NIGELS SPIRITS AND WE KNEW DIRECTLY WE ARRIVED AT SHERWOOD PARK THAT WE WOULD ENJOY OUR STAY...EVEN THOUGH WE USED OUR TORCH FOR NEARLY 2HOURS!!
Nigel, Marvin, Andy and all the staff did an excellent job during our stay, and I would not hesitate to recommend the Sherwwod Park to anyone.
The place has a very friendly and calming air about it, and the service is excellent , and after diving with people from the Hilton for the first week, I can safely say that we got the better accomodation!
Fred Abbink arrived on the second week, and it is clear that his philosophy has infused the staff at the Sherwood Park. His friendly approach to providing excellent Customer Service is certainly ingrained in the whole place. Sue and I wish Fred , Nigel and all the staff a very happy Christmas , and all best wishes for the future. Hope to see you again !!
Sherwood Park Apartments
What can I say - another truly relaxing holiday in lovely surroundings. Gary and I thoroughly enjoyed our honeymoon. Nigel and his staff as ever were attentive and helpful. Our fridge was stocked on arrival and the bottle of wine was a lovely touch. Housekeeping was its usual high standard and nothing was too much trouble. This was our second stay here and we were not disappointed. Can't imagine staying anywhere else. Have definitely got the Tobago bug and am looking forward to returning a third time. Keep up the good work guys and see you again soon!
We Are Planning To Visit Sherwood Park From 9-23 Sept 2004
This week we are planning to book a ticket and a room at Sherwood park, because I heard and read lots of nice things about the appartment en Tobago.
And i'm planning to book the Suite at Sherwood park, so I hope there are people over here who can tell me more about this room. What's the difference with the normal appartments?
And one thing I want to know, is how can you get money on this Island? Can you pin the money? Or must you pay with traveller checks? And before I go to Tobago, can I go to the bank in Holland and get there some money in the valuta from Tobago? So that I have a little bit of money when we arrive at Tobago, so we can buy something to drink etc.
And all the other tips about the Island to see are welcome. But I think when we are there, Nigel can tell us everyting.
I wish it was September
Our February 2004 Visit
A Super winter retreat!
After being in transit more than 16 hours from Montreal to Barbardos to Trinidad to Tobago we arrived at Crown Point Airport in Tobago much the worse for wear and found dear Nigel, manager of Sherwood Park apartments patiently awaiting our late flight from Trinidad on Tobago Express air service.
We were totalling enjoying the ride to Sherwood Park until we turned off the main road to what can generously be called a narrow steep uphill lane. Then we made a hairpin curve onto a narrower dirt track which seemed to be in the darkest, deepest place. Then we turned into an even narrower lane which lead us to Sherwood Park Apartments. Need we say that we were feeling a bit uncertain.
The next morning we awoke to a gorgeous morning and we were delighted to find ourselves in this beautiful oasis which is called Sherwood Park.
We made our home here for 24 days; we felt at home with the people on the property and with the people on the island. Unlike most people who stayed at Sherwood Park, we did not rent a car. We hired taxis for tours (and met more people) and we enjoyed a lovely run to the beach which was provided by Sherwood Park at a nominal fee.
The property is beautifully built on a slope with the apartments on the top level. Down a few steps is a large pentagon shaped terrace with tables and chairs under thatch covered shelters. Down a few more steps is a gorgeous pool area with chairs and more thatched shelters.
Throughout the property is a beautiful garden which includes a wide variety of palms and flowering bushes.
Our thanks to Nigel Pirtheesingh for his most wonderful hospitality and to his staff Marvin, Andy, Carola and Louisa for a lovely family atmosphere. This is one of the best holidays we have ever had.
