My boyfriend and I stayed at Surfside in September 2011. I booked the room based on price. It was only after that I read all the bad reviews, I was skeptical.

However, it was too late to cancel, I had already made the deposit. We went by ferry on the 5 p.m. sailing so we arrived at Surfside 8:30 p.m. Management allowed us a late check-in at no extra cost. Someone ushered us up to the room and helped bring our baggage up. There was parking in the compound so our vehicle was in-sight at all times.

The room was clean. No 5 star, but acceptable. There is housekeeping that can everday to clean and tidt the room. There is a kitchenette equipped with everything to make your stay comfortable. Cooking utensils and dishware included. There also is a Dive Shop on site.

The Hotel is close to a main road so it is not lonely. Beaches and other attractions are also close by. Generally, we had a good stay there without incident.

If you are acccustomed to higher ends hotels this may not be the place for you. Surfside is cheap t stay at and are for persons more interested in sightseeing than staying indoors.

I would stay there again, but there a better options for the same price like Crusoe's Holiday Apartments.

My husband, two kids and i stayed at the hotel last August. it was very good for the price and very cosy i must say.its really great for those who wish to go sightseeing....its not a paradise but it was more than i expected.the manager was very friendly and sought to our needs...my kids enjoyed the children's pool...they are usually scared but the pool was perfect for them.....its close to food places and to the beach....after a morning walk on the beach ...when we returned to the hotel we found that our beds were made with clean sheets and the dishes were all washed up...we were pleasantly surprised...so it was a no no to chores for me for our 4 day stay lol .....my stay was great and i will return again....keep it up ...:)

This place is a joke. we stayed for 3 nights. The a/c control did'nt work, the electric kettle cable was faulty, the whole place smelled dirty, the shower drain was blocked and we asked for extra kitchen ware. We reported these to management, nothing was done and when we asked for a discount they keeled over with laughter! AVOID SURF SIDE LIKE THE PLAGUE

I'm writing this report as it's fresh in my mind. A group of 6 and myself stayed at Surfside for two nights Sept 24-26th. First of all the location is ideal. Close proximity to ATMs, Store Bay, the grocery, Chef's BBQ (my favorite, can't wait to go back to have that) and Skewers (for all the Muslims visiting the Crown Point area, they have halal meats), just to name a few of the eating places around.

W e stayed in a family apartment (paid $700tt per night for room DV2). The apartment was very well kept. This is the first place I've stayed in Tobago that actually had enough wares in the kitchen to cook, sadly this time I didn't. The bedrooms had clean sheets, clean floors and walls. Be warned! From my experience with the AC, they work darn good. We had the AC on in both rooms and kept the doors open so the entire apartment was really cold. Even though our stay was only two nights, on the second day, Saturday, someone came to mop and take out the trash. This really impressed me as I have never had that before even with paying $700tt for only two persons at the crown point beach hotel.

The pools were clean and there we alot of lounge chairs around for just taking in the Tobago sun. The one draw back for me was that the pool opens at 9am and closes at 9pm. I dont mind the closing time but I think it should open a bit earlier. Their check out is at 11pm so opening the pool at 9am with 6 people staying in one apartment and only one bathroom leaves no pool time the morning before check out. This I think they should look at.

To sum it all up, great customer service, excellent location, great accommodation. I will definitely staying there again. My family has also indicated that they don't want to stay anyway else. I'm planning my next trip for Easter 2011. I wanted to do the booking one time but they weren't doing them so early. Thank you surf side for a wonderful stay.

I stayed at the Surf Side Hotel for Great Race weekend.

With all the negative views i was skeptical.

When i reached there i was shocked.

It was a great place.

We stayed in a two bedroom apartment.

It was the perfect place to relax.

Positive-

Clean

Friendly Staff

Good size bedrooms and beds

Great location

No insects

Close to the beach (Store Bay)

My only negatives are that

-the pool does close at 9p.m.

We would have liked to have been in the pool later.

- the air conditioning in could have been a bit colder.

We would definitely go back there to stay.

Great Job Surf Side
