Detailed Description
Website extracts and/or information supplied by Villa Carpe Diem
Villa Carpe Diem is a 2 storey half timbered house completed in October 2007. Downstairs is of block construction There are 2 'studio' apartments comprising large living room/bedroom kitchen each with 2 sets of double louvered doors opening out onto a veranda which runs the full width of the house. The ensuite bathrooms are fully tiled 'wetrooms'.
Each apartment has a queensize bed made in the village from local red cedar. They are enclosed in '4-poster ' cotton canopies to keep out the odd mosquito! We have a 'Graco' cot for babies , a small bed for toddlers and a single bed ( slides under the double bed, for extra guest/child etc. Each has a large new refridgerator, stove , toaster, kettle , blender/juicer etc etc.
Upstairs is all timber construction with 2 ensuite bedrooms either end of a 48ft x 10ft veranda. in the centre is a very large lounge kitchen living room with a double size bed settee for the odd extra guest.
All the rooms have high ceilings and stay pretty cool even on the hottest day. We have put free standing fans in each room. Having them on in the evening on the veranda keeps any persistant mosquito at bay but we have not been trouble here as much as we have been at other places we stayed in the village before completing our own place.
The view from the veranda is, we think ,the best in the village. Well we would wouldn't we!
On the left of the house there is a large BBQ area to cook that fish you caught today!
There is now a stargazing deck to the right of the house. The garden is planted up with a variety of fruit trees, mango, banana, guava, paw paw etc. also the flowering plants and herbs are now well established and adding to our and your enjoyment of the house.
