Air Bridge

Postby laural » Fri Mar 12, 2010 6:19 pm

Hello,
I have a couple of questions regarding travel between Trinidad and Tobago. First, is Yes Tourism the only way to book Air Bridge tickets? I'm not sure why it wouldn't be available through Caribbean Airlines... Also, is there savings when you buy a round trip ticket? I'm thinking that it might be fun to take the ferry on the trip back or is it not worth the hassle?
Thanks so much! We're very excited to be chilling in Tobago soon... 8)

Hi Laural

Welcome aboard! :)

Please have a look at our Air-Bridge page (menu: Tobago > Tobago Flights/Ferry Services > Air-Bridge) for full information. As we say there, you can now book flights direct with Caribbean Airlines ( www.caribbean-airlines.com ). Our recommendation that air-bridge tickets are purchased from Yes Tourism dates back from when tickets for the previous service, Tobago Express, could only be booked through Yes Tourism or a personal visit to the airport sales office. We still recommend Yes Tourism for all reservation services, but you can book airbridge tickets direct now.

There is currently a problem with online bookings on Carib Air. I have been unable to pay for the tickets online (last night and this morning). I am about to call their 800 number.

I have been pleased with the online booking experience in the recent past though.

I was able to reserve and pay for my Carib Air tickets over the phone just now. Long wait on hold but pleasant reservations clerk. I needed only one way tickets as we are coming in on Delta before they begin the Atlanta to Tobago route this summer. I think that direct flight starts July 10. I will be returning home from Tobago through Atlanta.

Thanks for all the info! I'm going to keep researching and looking through the site...
I'm unable to get in touch with anyone at any of the U.S. offices of Caribbean Airlines right now and am very frustrated! I'm not even getting put on hold, I'm just getting a busy signal which is slightly disconcerting. I've even started calling their baggage claim lines and can't get anyone. Hopefully this clears up soon...!

Are you calling 800-920-4225? They are busy because of the online problems.

The ferry is fun, Laural. However if you are planning on using it one way then go down to PoS with the wind from astern rather than back to Scarborough as the return crossing can

sometimes be lively.

It also depends on where you want to go to in Trinidad. The airport is away from Port of Spain, so if that is your main destination use the ferry. The ferry is extremely good value for

money and nowadays doesn't take long either.

To a lesser extent it also depends upon where you are staying in Tobago. If you are right near Crown Point then fly.

Let us know how you get on if you go to Trinidad. Too many tourists are frightened to give it a try.
