Roti--not for us!

Post by Sally »

We had read all about roti, and we thought we should try it. We experienced our first one at Store Bay. It was all dough, and by the time we got to the meat, we had lost interest. I had a chicken roti, and the chicken was all bones. We ended up tossing them in the trash. Just to be fair, we tried another one in Trinidad, but it really wasn't any better. Oh well, we tried!

Hmmm. Roti.

I'd love one right now (chana).

I also miss The Golden Girls bakery with their cheese pie and superb currant roll...

ROTI

Post by Darren Gribben »

As my next door neighbours family hail from Trinidad and i'd had my first "roti" from them, i couldn't wait to try one on the island. By far the best i found were from the little stall at the entrance to Englishmans Bay, the lovely lady there doe's fish or chicken and has iced ginger beer from her cooler, GREAT..
