Mario, beers are Carib,Stag,,Carlsberg,Mackeson and other imported beers. As to the price depends where you buy/drink.A bottle of Carib(probably the most popular beer)would cost in Pennysave TT$5 and depending on the rum shop or bar TT$6 toTT$15.Cocktails...oh yes! Real rum punch mmmm. And if you get to Castara see Brenton at the Boathouse have a lobster and one of HIS rum punches!

Hello David,
Bavarian beer has arrived on the island. A friend of mine imports 3 types of beer from a small private bavarian brewery: Pilsner, Hefeweizen and Kristallweizen ( wheat beer), several hotels and restaurants have it on their menue already, but you can buy it by the case directly from him.
Feel free to contact me for details.

Bavaria is a part of southern Germany - and they brew many diff. Sorts.
We like that and are very happy to hear this...
In the early Days, I heard, they put chinin into heineken to make it last longer and the saylors drank it because it was good against "yellowfever"...
Cheers!

That´s what Wiki says:
Quinine, is a natural white crystalline alkaloid having antipyretic, anti-malarial with analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties and a bitter taste. It is a stereoisomer of quinidine.
It mostly gives the bitter taste to the drinks or beer...
We mostly had Carib and sometimes Stag...
And coke+oake...
AND: BigMama´s GingerBeer on TurtleBeach

Hi Gill
I must confess I've never seen Banks on Tobago - but I'm sure someone else will know for sure. Its worth your husband trying Carib or Stag though - they're much lighter than many of our beers and lagers and he may find that they don't give him a problem.
Here's a story about Banks beer that I found amusing.

Here's a story about Banks beer that I found amusing.
After the Great British Beer Festival in London, all the brewery presidents decided to go out for a beer.
The guy from Corona sits down and says "Hey Señor, I would like the world's best beer, a Corona."
The bartender dusts off a bottle from the shelf and gives it to him.
The guy from Budweiser says "I'd like the best beer in the world, give me 'The King of Beers', a Budweiser."
The bartender gives him one.
The guy from Coors says "I'd like the only beer made with Rocky Mountain spring water, give me a coors."
He gets it.
The guy from Banks sits down and says "Man give me a Coke."
The bartender is a little taken aback, but gives him what he ordered....
The other brewery presidents look over at him and ask "Why aren't you drinking a Banks?"
The Banks Beer president replies "Well I figure if you all not drinking real beer, then I wouldn't either!"

Hello Gill and all beer enthusiasts,
I am just back from a serious investigation of the subject. It looks like Morshead supermarket on Buccoo Road is Tobago's beer heaven.
This is what I found there:
Canned beers from the UK:
Mc.Ewans, Tennents, John Smiths, Newcastle Brown and Newcastle Brown Ale, Guiness Draught, San Miguel, Tetley's Bitter, Stones Bitter, Skol, Carling, Caffrey's, Worthington's Cream flow
Canned beers from Europe and rest of the world:
Stella Artois, Carlsberg, Carlsberg Export and Carlsberg Special Brew, Foster's, Miller Lite
Bottled beers:
Sharp's ( Miller), Old Peculier, Kronenbourg 1664, Beck's , Beck's alcohol free, Corona, Miller, Miller Highlife, Bank's Milk Stout, Marstons Old Empire, Marstons Pedigree and the local Samba, Stag, Carib, Pola
I remember ahving seen a lot of Banks in different supermarkets when the Carib workers went on strike, maybe you'll find it at Pennysavers, i am sure Morshead will have it soon again ( I promised to copy them on this post)
They told me that this is not a permanent selection and the selection might change.
Hope this helps, I'm off to a cold Marstons Old Empire at the pool ( I like the bottle and never had it before)

Thanks Steve,
I will show my husband the joke as I'm sure he will appreciate it and, if he can't find Banks then maybe Carib or Stag will be OK. Trouble is even coffee gives him a headache too and, as far as alcohol goes (except Banks), just one mouthful has him searching for the paracetamol!
