BBQ Pigtail

Post by Andy K »

Have you ever tasted this specialty ?
If you are not too conscious about calories and cholesterol, you should try.
If you happen to meet with a "Bajan" and a Grenadian, both will tell you it is "their"
specialty. But who cares ? It came across from those islands to Tobago some years ago.
BBQ Pigtail is made from salted, pre-cooked pigtail. It is fat and heavy, but depending
on the skills of the man or the woman at the grill, it tastes "fingerlicking" good.

BBQ Pigtail was first introduced by Flavor Pot Restaurant, Wilson Road, Scarborough,
on a friday lunchtime, and usually sold out by 1pm. I am not quite sure though if they are
still in operation.

You will definately get your BBQ pigtail at "Sal's Cuisine" in Store Bay Local Road, close to Cafe Iguana, on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday night after 6pm. Salisha "Sal" runs a small outlet for tasty local
and BBQ food. Their pigtail is delicious !
After having this, probably with a portion of fries and some "bush", you got the right "foundation"
for some stiff drinks you may enjoy after

Enjoy !

My buddy had BBQ pigtail at Sherma's in Castara. He said it was delicious. Sherma's has a terrific deal for BBQ every Friday night. End's up being one big street party. Great.
