RESTAURANT EXPERIENCES

Post by OllyFoster »

Just got back from a fortnight in Tobago. about my 7th time on the island in the past 10 years but stayed in the Stone Haven/ Pleasant Prospect area for the first time. ( Pelican Villa).
Found that eating out with wife and two kids was a bit hit and miss but here are a few of our experiences.
**Fish Pot. excellent for lunch and dinner. great value especially lunch and very accom*modating for kids. terrific homemade burgers. but steer clear of the wine.
**Me Shells. ok. not much flair to the cooking and overpriced.
** Mot Mot. we picked a bad night. the cook was sick. the owner was cooking and running the place on his own. we were the only table and the food was very average. felt sorry for him though as it's so quiet at the mo and everyone is desperate for business
** Tartaruga. never made it. told they opened at 1830 but they turned us away and said they opened at 1900. went back two nights later at 1900 and they told us to come back at 1930. we didn't comeback at all. kids don't wait.
** The Pescador in Buccoo was great, just a pity we didn't find it sooner. great meal and top owner/chef. really friendly.
**Cafe Coco. pretty good but staff still can't escape being pretentious with the Coco Reef connections
** Jazzy and Roys Roti hut in Pleasant Prospct was a winner every time.

hope half of this is useful.
