Cafe Mia, Lowlands

Last night we had the pleasure of being taken out to dinner to a ‘new Italian restaurant’ that we had never even heard of – Café Mia in Lowlands. It was a charming experience and we shall certainly return their again before our return to the UK at the end of this month.
Now, we are not talking fine-dining, as at La Tartaruga, but simple Italian food served in what is more of a roadside café setting. The premises are located just off the Claude Noel Highway in Lowlands; the last turning left before the new Gulf City Lowlands Mall, when travelling from the Crown Point direction. See our aerial map and zoom in on the mall for a better idea of the location.
Owner, Marcello, hails from Rome and runs the cafe with his Trinidadian wife Indra. They seem a really charming pair with just the right attitude and manner. The premises are very unpretentious and the prices very affordable (for Tobago). We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening and welcome them to our restaurant listings and wish them every success. Well worth a visit if you fancy simple Italian fare in a very casual café-type setting.
