June 19 - HELP - 1 night...

Post by KJSmith »

Oh dear!!! We are arriving at 11:10 p.m. on June 19. Our reservations for our 3 week stay starts on June 20. I didn't think it would be a problem to find a fairly inexpensive room for one night - so didn't check before making airline reservations!

Now, through a kind email from a small inn, have been informed that June 19 is a holiday, oops!

Please give suggestions...we were hoping to stay close to the airport since it will be so incredibly late when we arrive. Our resort is the Sandy Point Beach Club. It is just 2 of us...

Thank you!!! This is our first trip to Tobago and we are so looking forward to our trip!!

As Sandy Point Beach Club is close to the Tobago airport, did you already try to book this aditional night in your hotel? Just ask! If they can't offer themselves they may help you to find anything! People on Tobago are not very kind, but they always try to help!

Tourism is very quiet in June.

You should get a room anywhere for the extra night, especially the Sandy Point Beach Club as Nicole says.

Mind you, as Steve pointed out on the other thread from Mr Smith, he may not even make it across. In my experience of the last flight of the night, seats are sometimes doled out to friends, family or influential folk on standby - once we got bumped off even though we had confirmed seats, because an earlier flight had been cancelled and big cheeses had to get home. And they don't accommodate you in T&T. So if Mr Smith's inbound flight is delayed or if he spends the usual 2+ hours clearing customs and immigration, he may not make it. What time is your inbound flight arriving in Piarco Mr S? Very few resorts in Tobago will accept a 1 night booking due to all the cleaning etc costs, but it is easy to book and pay for 2 nights then just stay 1, if you do make it across Mr S.

Someone messaged me and asked me to post the outcome of our June trip, and the one night. We did stay at the Sandy Point Beach Club...it was about $100. They took care of sending someone to the airport for us, yes, even at that hour! What a relief - and how incredibly kind, and wonderful were all the folks at Sandy Point Beach Club! When we get to go again, we'll probably stay a few days in Trinidad, and then head across! Thanks!!!
