Hi Jennie,

the easiest way for island hopping is to go with LIAT or Caribbean Star. I know that in 2002 Liat offerend something like three islands for about 100 US$.
The planes are smal (like a bus) and I was told that LIAT is the short form of 'Leave Island Any Time' but my expiriences are good. Nice stuff and quick flights between the islands. Martinique is beautiful - if you speak french! Grenada, St. Lucia and Barbados are nice and Union Island is a must if you love snokeling because it is right in front of the Tobago Keys (nothing to do with Tobago) where you can only go by boat and snorkeling is amazing. But - in the end - Tobago is the nicest!

Good luck and sorry to miss yo because I stay from Sept. 28th to October 12th.
Enjoy Tobago

Cheers

Good question Jen, Hubby is 5`6" and has a shaved head, I am even shorter with reddish brownish (depending on what the sun and salt water do to colour!) short hair.

Maybe Steve should sell My Tobago baseball caps so we can all spot each other!!!!

Thanks Gisele, :)

Please expand on why the other islands are not as good. I would really like to know the pros/cons from other peoples perspective and experience.

No view is a wrong view, just an opinion would be great. I have never been and it would give me some guidance as to best areas to visit avoid etc..I will obviously form my own opinion based later on my own visit 8)

Hope to see you in Tobago another time soon :D

Linda I shall do my best!

steve won't be able to answer until wednesday I think since he is still at the diamont wedding of his parents.
the idea was out there already, but I think it was a problem who would do the shipping and how to do the payment and all that. if you know a place who would do that on order if steve provides them with the logo, maybe it could happen!
lets see what the "master" says when he is back in "the house"
sunny greetings

Hi Jen, Linda and Steph,

yes, we talked about T-shirts and Caps a while before but it is a lot of work and Steve is doing this website all on his own. But don't worry, you will find each other. The beaches are not crowded.

Jen, don't worry. My name is spelled in so many different ways I really don't care

About islands. I made a 2 week trip on a sailboat in 2002 from Grenada to Martinique. Grenada is nice but expesive. Martinique is beautiful but if you don't speak french you will be in trouble. I really liked Carriacu and I found St. Lucia interresting because of the "drive-in-vulcano" and the parcs around. Union Island is smal but close to the area of the Tobago Keys. If you like snorkeling this is the best place.
I wrote a post about it already but I can't find it.

All islands have something special and all islands are nice in a way. But you don't really find out if you go there only for a day.

When I made this sailtrip I had a four week holiday. The first week I was in Tobago then fly to Grenada (LIAT) and after the sailtrip I went back to Tobago for the last week. 8)

Whatever you decide to do, enjoy!

Cheers

David:

Well I hope your not too right about that, but I won't mind if you are as I will probably be spending the most time in Tobago anyway :D

I just want to go and see the other places and spend a little time there. I have been to Grenada '91 and '94 and it was okay, as Gisela said expensive.

Thanks guys,

Jen

Hi Folks

Sorry, but can I ask everyone to ensure that this thread is ONLY used for its intended purpose - to enable Visitors to Tobago to arrange meetings while on the island. Otherwise the thread just becomes a mess.

david, you should finally offer a pic on the forum, so people would know who to bump into... who to buy the beers and rums for... or who to avoid if they are cheap and don't want to finance your holiday...

the "deliveryboy" is on its way... for other readers: no we are not starving here. just missing our eropean christmas a bit

I'll tell sharon and brenton about your arrival time!!! :!:

did you see the bonfire on the beach from the plane? we symbolically burned the palm leaves of your wedding chapel, found that better than see it rot on the beach...

look forward to your real honeymoon in december, when you have chance to enjoy the castara magic just by yourselves again... \:D/

say hello to family and friends

Stollen

Postby Bill B » Wed Nov 15, 2006 5:48 pm

Steph,

I've been making stollen on Christmas eve for over twenty years (since my mother passed away) following an old family recipe handed down through many generations. We always freeze some so I will bring one down in Jan when we come to your place.
