Hi, My boyfriend and I are travelling to Tobago at the end of April. We want to stay somewhere within walking distance of bars and restaurants but also on a quiet & beautiful beach - we will be hiring a car but don't want to drive everywhere cos we both like a drink - where do you reckon would be best?

Hi Karen

If you want to be within easy walking distance of a variety of bars and restaurants, you choice is pretty much restricted to Crown Point. Check our Accommodation listings and look for properties that mention being situated in Crown Point or close to the airport, Store Bay or Pigeon Point. However, this area is not quiet – at least not for Tobago. Mind you, if you stay in Crown Point for the ‘nightlife’ (a relative term) all the beautiful quiet beaches will be within easy driving distance the next day.

Dear Karen,

you could take the chance to stay a few days in the more touristic part of the island close to Store Bay and Pigeon Point to discover the island with your car - and then move to Charlotteville or Castara where you find the "real Tobago" with lonely beaches, rainforest and traditional fishing villages. In Charlotteville you can stay close to the beach but you still have some infrastructure like restaurants, shops and an internet-cafe in walking distance - so you don't need to worry to reach your home after some beers... I wish you a wonderful holiday...
