Areas and accomodation with small children - 4 and nearly 2

Post by Catherine Martin »

We hope to come to Tobago in November with our 2 young children. In Nov they will be 4 and nearly 2.

We had been told that Nov was quite a good time to come? - any comments please?

Our main concern is finding somewhere suitable to stay. We have been recommended Castara for a week? That would also then leave another week to find accomodation. Our main requirements are safety for children, close to beach that is suitable for swimming for children, somewhere very pretty and not too pricey. Don't know if anywhere suitable exists?

If anyone has any suggestions of areas and accomodation that would be suitable we would be extremely greatful.

Accommodations (young children)

Post by Clyde Alleyne »

Catherine, can you provide some more requirements. Eg. do you plan to rent a car, what does "not too pricey mean"? can you give a budget range? do you want to have a private pool, or is a communal pool ok? what level of amenities would you be prepared to live with eg air conditioning mandatory? do you plan to cook much or want to eat out mostly? If you look at the accommodations section, you will find dozens of choices to suit every taste and budget, so it would be difficult for someone to recommend specific places without knowing more.

As far as beaches are concerned, the one place I would most strongly recommend you plan to take your children is Pigeon Point, as the water is very calm and vey shallow and therefore most suitable for very small children. Pigeon Point is in the Crown Point area, so if you want to concentrate your search there, look for rental apartments, villas etc in the Crown Point and Don Accord area.

Close to the beach and safe water, yes Pidgeon Point is shallow and the water si very warm but not so clear water.

An other safe beach in the Crown Point area is Canoe Beach on the Atlantic side, mayby is even more shallow compared with Pidgeon Point. Canoe Beach alsohas accomondations, and the area is very, very green. I´ve been there but never stayed into their rooms.
