We stayed at the Crown Point hotel in January following our bad experience at the Tropikist. The holel is run by friendly helpful staff who go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Nothing is too much trouble! The grounds are absolutely beautiful! You can sit outside your accomodation or take the short walk down the steps to Store Bay, the best beach on the island! We spent several days in an apartment and one week in a Cabana, so we had the best of both worlds, so to speak. Both accomodations had self catering facilities which was a definitely plus, as we could cater for ourselves, which we did ocassionally after purchasing fresh fish from the local traders.

We especially enjoyed the Best of Thymes restaurant. The food was excellent and we particularly wanted to thank the lovely, lovely Cynthia for her warm, welcoming, charming spirit. Apart from the delicious food she makes the very best cocktails! Would definitely stay there again. In fact can't wait to go back!!

Crown Point 2005

Postby Simone Eade » Wed Mar 16, 2005 3:13 pm

We've just returned from 2 weeks at a cabana at the Crown Point hotel and can highly recommend them. Maybe a little basic in decor, but with everything you need - a double bed, a single, a kitchenette, large fridge freezer and bathroom. I was very surprised that maids came in everyday and cleaned the cabana thoroughly as well as changing the towels, something I did'nt expect with a self c atering option.

The major plus point for a cabana, and particularly that at Crown Point, is the incredible view right across Store Bay to Pigeon Point. We were less than 100 metres from the beach, a fantastic spot for snorkelling. At the cabana you really felt like you were living the Tobago experience as you could hear the reggae music pumping from Store Bay and simply stroll from our terrace across the garden to the beach below.

Self catering can be hit and miss at most places in the world but at Crown Point I was pleasantly surprised and after extensive travels across the island I would'nt hesitate in going back there.
