Why leave Castara?

Postby Rick Preece » Mon Jan 31, 2005 10:03 pm

Just returned from 9 glorious days in Castara. Before going on the trip, we were told by numerous people that we needed to rent a car. Although we arrived at 2300 hrs. local and were not able to convert any currency or purchase groceries and supplies, we not only survived but flourished. Our most gracious host "Porridge" was able to convert money the next morning and we shopped for what we needed in the village. Four days later, we felt the need to go to Scarborough to convert more $ and do more substantial shopping. Porridge told me he would be taking more guests for the same thing and we were welcome to come along. He took 3 couples in his minivan for a most enjoyable day. Shopped in the morning, stopped for Roti's on the way home and was able to get back in time to enjoy the afternoon sun on the beach. Didn't leave Castara again, by 4 wheeled vehicle anyways, till the morning we left. As the message subject implies, why leave Castara?

That sounds great especially as we will be there in just under 4 weeks. Can't wait
