sheppy's email?

Postby Barbara1 » Wed Jun 01, 2005 1:15 am

wow!
I just started reading about car rentals in this forum and all I am reading about is how wonderful Sheppy is.
ok. I'm sold. how do we get in touch with him?
is it better to go through Yes Tourism?
If so, where do I find them?
and one more question.
what kind of car is best to rent?
is a toyota corolla good for Tobago roads or do you need a jeep and/or 4 wheel drive?
thanks

Hi, Barbara

Sheppy is at
http://www.tobagocarrental.com

Yes is at
http://www.yes-tourism.com

I can't answer whether you should be going via Yes or not, and what car you should take - we still have to make the same decisions ourselves.

Hi Barbara

This is a difficult one. I know, trust and use Sheppy personally - but I also know, trust and use Yes Tourism. So, let me be objective about this and comment from a totally objective point of view.

Yes Tourism guarantee that you will pay no more by booking through them. What it means is that you have a local representive looking after your interests. Yes place a lot of reservations for clients with the small handful of the island's best rental agencies. If anything goes wrong, the rental agency have Yes Tourism to deal with rather than some commercially unimportant visitor who may or may not return to the island. Yes have already kicked one large agency of their list because they messed clients about, to my certain knowledge.

So, whilst I have 100% faith in Sheppy, the truth is that you give yourself some extra protection by going through YT. At the end of the day, somebody has to get the newest cars and somebody the oldest on any fleet. With YT's buying power, it stands to reason that the agencies will pay closest attention to a firm who are probably their biggest customer, even if they are having to pay them a bit of commision.
