I am trying to trace anyone who was struck down with the still 'unknown illness' at the Grafton Beach resort in November. We have just been offered compensation by the hotel management but no explanation as to what caused the illness. If anyone has any information as to the cause and if you too have been offered compensation please post a reply as i am unsure wether to accept or not.

Hi John, the local papers covered the disease and the aftermath quite a bit, particularly the good news of the clean bill of health afterwards(small consolation for you I guess) and I recall that they may have quoted the details of the illness - do a search with keyword "Grafton Beach" in the archives of the Trinidad Express (trinidadexpress.com I think) or Guardian. Best of luck - contact an ambulance chaser and remember that with legal disputes go for the weakest liable link - if you booked with a UK based travel agent or tour operator then liability is likely to be joint.....
