The new Mount Hay Retreat opened for guests on New Year's Day and opened it's dining room to the general public (by advance reservation only). Diners may eat on the pool terrace, lounge terrace or in the dining room of the highest restaurant in Tobago, enjoying views of the Caribbean Sea and hills. The restaurant has no alcohol sales license yet, so diners may bring their own drinks (chiller supplied). Cuisine is interesting and affordable offering everything from Cuban dishes to local lobster and indian curry. Cakes and breads are home made. You can contact Glyn Kirpalani on 7883576 for a reservation.

Opened for business January 2004, located about a mile up in the hills from Black Rock.

Superb views (of both oceans) make this a lovely spot to enjoy the tranquillity of Tobago. Guaranteed wind (due to its height) means that you will never be too hot.

Essentially an upmarket B& B property finished to a high standard.

Menu is fairly limited but changed daily – we enjoyed the Pumpkin soup and Cuban Stuffed Peppers – and service is charming.
Dinner will cost circa £10 per head. NB Order wine in advance if you want more than the usual beer / punch.

Recommended for lunch when you get the benefit of the stunning views.
