Bamboo Walk Hotel - Reader Reports & Opinion

My stay at the Bamboo Walk Hotel was disappointing after reading about it on the internet. The room was simplistic topped off with plastic chairs and a little 12' tv. The surroundings seemed disorderly with little to no landscaping. When I booked, the receptionist agreed to add a bed at no additional cost, however, when I arrived there, the receptionist that checked us in said he was unaware of that arrangement. We waited while it was eventually cleared up. The cleaning staff came on the last day of our stay, knocked on our door 10 minutes before check out and informed us that we were to check out at 12pm without even greeting us good morning. The parking is non existent. The hotel has 12 rooms and parking for 3 cars. I parked there and was blocked by "someone". The receptionist said she called the driver and the driver said they would come in 5 minutes, she apologised but said that the driver was part of the management of the hotel and it was beyond her to help. The manager finally came half an hour afterwards, without offering an apology or like her staff member telling us good afternoon.

I chose Bamboo Walk for my stay in Tobago for the Easter Weekend 2010, mainly due to avaialbility, however, based on the service, comfort and serenity of the place, I plan to make the Bamboo Walk my regular hotel in all future trips to Tobago.

All the negative reports that were posted on the reviews were unfounded as I experienced no noisy staff, and all areas were clean and well maintained and the friendly and very helpful staff were ever present to assist.

My wife , an avid reader, was impressed with the selection of books available to hotel guests.

On Friday night, Karaoke was not at all disturbing as my 5 yr old son and 2 yr old daughter slept soundly throughout.

The Family atmosphere and welcoming pool was a hit with with my children as well.

On Sunday night I ordered dinner at the restaurant and since it was before dinner time, I went to the pool with my son with the intention of picking it up on our way back to the room, however, when dinner was ready , Sam delivered it to our room!!

I was very pleased with my stay at the Bamboo walk ..at the much larger hotels and so called Luxury resorts, you dont get that closeness and personalized service.

I would definitely recommend The Bamboo Walk to anyone visiting Tobago.

I found Bamboo Walk Hotel on the internet while searching for hotels to stay at. I was satisfied with all the info provided and decided it was my choice of stay.

I must say, that from the moment i arrived, till the moment i left, Bamboo Walk Hotel surpassed all of my expectations. I welcomed the scenic settings in which they constructed the hotel with greenery and bamboo everywhere. The place was like a botanic hideaway, with a pool and a restaurant just outside the rooms (the restaurant was made up to look like a hut). As a previous report said, the place looked just like the picture on the internet. The only thing missing was a small fridge.

The place was great, the food was great, the service was great and the staff was warm & friendly. I would definitely be visiting this hotel again. Thanks again Bamboo Walk Hotel for an enjoyable stay!!

Quiet and quaint, that's Bamboo walk. The restaurant is great for breakfast and drinks but not for island food. The tours are great but finding transportation to and from the hotel is a little tedious.

Service is great and the hotel is clean and neat. We were a party of six with four rooms and we were very comfortable.

I would stay here again when i return to Tobago.
