My husband and I recently stayed at Conrado in February 2009. From the day we booked until we were dropped off at the airport, Maria was wonderful: responding quickly to email inquiries, welcoming us upon arrival, providing advice about the island, always inquiring about our comfort and wishing us a good day. While the hotel seems to be in a transitional phase of renovation, it offers comfortable rooms, roomy balconies, and of course, a gorgeous view of the ocean. I anticipate that the ambiance and aesthetics of the actual will only improve! Our room was cleaned each day and absolutely immaculate.
The breakfast was very nice - and enough to fuel the day's activities. I HIGHLY recommend eating their "authentic" breakfast - delicious. Dinners are absolutely incredible. I have no doubt that Anil the cook will emerge as one of the best cooks in TT. EVEN IF YOU DON'T STAY AT CONRADO YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY COME HERE FOR DINNER!! There is no formal menu, but if you were to inquire in the early afternoon, Anil will accommodate your wishes and cook for you what you'd like. Otherwise, if you show up during dinner hour, I can gaurantee you'll be happy with whatever the feature is that evening. One night he prepared the most amazing fajitas I've had - with incredible attention to detail and flavor. Amazing! Seriously, the BEST food we had on the island - by far! (Second runner up being the Coco Cafe). The bar is good as well - my husband very much liked the rum punch. I was happy with an ice cold Carib on tap! Anthony the bartender offered wonderful service and good conversation.
The other Anil (waiter/staff) is a young Trinidadian who is incredibly warm, genuine, and wonderful guy. My husband and I were so lucky to be able to hang out and get to know him. He is missed!!
We'd definitely stay here again, although, I felt more drawn to the tranquility and scenery (mountainous, forest, QUIET beaches) of the other end of the island (Charlottesville, Speyside, Castara), and would probably stay on this end of the island next time (in addition to a few nights at Conrado!). We didn't care much for Pigeon Point beach (down the road from Conrado), which is argued to be the best beach on the island. If you're looking for lots of tourists, an entrance fee, expensive drinks, easy access to beach chairs, then you'll be happy at Pigeon Point. If you'd like few tourists, good snorkeling, and better scenery, head to Englishman's Bay or the beach that's located at Arnos Vale Beach Hotel - which is public, but few go there aside from those staying at the relatively secluded hotel. We rented a vehicle for a few days and a scooter for a few days. The scooter was fine for getting to closer destinations, while the car was definitely safer for travel to the opposite end of the island.
We look forward to staying at Conrado again and certainly wish them the best!

My girlfriend and I just returned from Tobago where we stayed for 12 days in Conrado beach resort.
We just want to add a positive remark about our hotel since
our staying there was totaly unforgetable and much more what we expected.
At first it was hard to chose the right hotel for us. We did not wanted to go to one of those All Inclusive hotels where you just eat and sit all day and feel yourself as just another tourist on crowded beach.
Conrado beach resort was realy the best choice for us since
we wanted to set us a good base with perfect location
to enjoy all the things that Tobago has to offer.
Since we are in proces of losing some weight we went for a long walk on the beach to the Pigeon Point every single morning before breakfast(barefooted) and we never had to pay any entrance fee.
The view from our balcony was breathtaking, relaxing in full of colours (better then any of those blue-ray movies seen on plasma TV ;)
The hospitality of managers and staff and also local people visiting hotel was outstanding and they made us feel like we were in paradise every single day.

We stayed at the Conrado Beach Resort for christmas just gone, and we had a fantastic time. We were welcomed on arrival with a 'beastly' Carib (a cold beer!) by Maria and Marion, who were both super helpful in booking tours for us (Marion) and spoiling us with food (Maria).
The Hotel has arguably the best position on the island, as you can walk to everything in crowne point, is right on the beach, and you can walk up the beach to Pigeon point. The fisherman bring their catch in next door, so you know the fish is always fresh, and there's a friendly jet-ski hire right by it as well.
The breakfasts were nice, always some fruit, eggs, ham, pastella, toast etc., and they did nice suppers as well. There weren't ever any written menus, but the choice changed daily, revolving around the usual fish, chicken, lamb or steak dishes. We thought that their food was as good as anything else we had during our holiday, the side dishes were nice, everything was fresh. Maria also let us know that if we wanted something special (a lobster, particular fish etc.), she would have been happy to get in in for us.
The food is served on a veranda overlooking the ocean, a good way to start the day.
There's also a bar, manfully manned by Travis, who mixes a mean Pina Colada, and has a seemingly endless supply of Carib. You can play pool in the bar with the locals, who were generally very friendly, competitive but happy to share some games. Special mention to my great rival on the table Trevor.
Our room looked out over the ocean, and faced the setting sun, and had a large veranda. There was a new air-con, a large bathroom and was simply fitted out. There was cable TV, we didn't really watch it much.
The operation of the sliding doors was a bit eccentric, and I never quite figured out the right combination of lightswitches for the main light (I got it on a couple of times!). However, this hotel is excellent value, and very friendly. So, if you want maximum efficiency, think of Switzerland. If you want somewhere jolly, reasonably priced and looking out at a beautiful ocean, this might well be it.

I just spent a week at conrado beach resort with my wife an two kids, it was wonderful. When you look out the bedroom window the view was spectacular, the service of the staff was good.
We rented jet skies. the kids also rode a hot dog pulled by a jet ski.the hotel is built on the beach so you don't have to go far to indulge yourself in the blue waters an white sandy beach. There is also a bar, an a nice terrace where we ate breakfast, you can watch the sunset from the terrace what a breathtaking view it was .
The only thing i did not like was we only had egg an bacon for breakfast, for the four days i stayed there it was either scrambled, sunny side up or omelet.besides that i will go back there any time i get the chance.

My partner and I booked the Conrado at the last minute for a few days of relaxation following a business trip. Because we booked last minute and the price for our accommodation was so reasonable $130 per night (inc. breakfast), we didn't really expect too much.
To our surprise the hotel turned out to be the best on the island and really was right on the beach front! The rooms were basic, but were kept spotlessly clean and had great A/C. We stayed on the second floor in a room at the front of the hotel overlooking the sea and the view was beautiful. We felt quite spoilt as our room had a deck area with table and chairs AND a lower deck with sun loungers perfect for watching the sun go down in the evening.
I can't finish the review without mentioning the staff, who were all very friendly and Maria (the owner) is a lovely lady who made sure we were well looked after, nothing was too much trouble for her....Thank you Maria.
We would highly recommend the Conrado to anyone.
