Fairly quiet season so not very busy. Fairly close to a popular beach. Breakfast was included. Very nice but could have done with a little more variety. dinner menu was quite expensive and I didn't think it was worth the money. Overall good location, nice rooms, pleasant staff and would recommend friends to stay there.

This little hotel has potential but is very neglected. Good points are the location which is great as walking distance to bars, restaurants and beaches(cockerels crow during the night but it all adds to the ambience!), Nice swimming pool although the water is a little too warm at times, the room maids, waiting and bar staff were extremely friendly and helpful. After an initial problem with one of the rooms (would definately NOT recommend room 20), we were put in a very acceptable poolside room. This was a budget hotel and so we did not expect too much but with hindsight, a non insulated wooden cabana in such a hot country is not a good idea as it gets too hot for the AC to cope with during the day. The food is good in this hotel but a very restricted menu that never changes. What let's this hotel down is the signs of neglect, i.e. broken parasols and every sun lounger had a broken slat. We are regular visitors to Tobago and would stay in Toucan Inn as a stopover but probably not for a week.

Geoff Ferguson from U.K. visited in September 2009 and awarded  Five out of Five

We visited in september 2009, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. the staff were very friendly, the room was excellent, thanks to cherryanne and the food at bonkers was also excellent, thanks to roberto, troy and the staff.

everywhere we went people wanted

to talk to us, asking us if we were enjoying our visit, where we had been, and where we planned to go during our visit.

although we built up a large collection of tour operator cards, nobody pressurised us into going on their particular trips.

we thoroughly enjoyed the trips we did go on, such as the "round the island " tour which included lunch at miss gemma's in speyside, and "sunday school" was brilliant, particularly the steel band. all the drivers, including Mr B were very informative, and helped to make our stay at the Toucan inn very enjoyable. we will certainly be back in the future.

We last stayed at toucan 6 years ago and were so impressed we returned this year with 5 others having told them how wonderful toucan was

this year we found no entertainment of note (compared to our last stay when there was excellent entertainment every night) food in restaurant less choice and not so good, waiting staff (apart from beverley) with very limited understanding of what we wanted and one night getting 6 main meals served to 3 people. pool not cleaned and grimy and greasy around edge and full of leaves although when i did alert staff to this it was cleaned

however, we went out every night to managed

it was not helpful when we heard that from our first sunday at the toucan the restaurant would not be open at all, ok for us but not so ok i guess for people arriving on a sunday

however, rooms are kept incredibly clean and i particularly thank cherie ann. management very helpful particularly christina who was friendly and professional at all times

the resident cab drive, mr b i did not find particularly helpful nor friendly once realising we would not be using him for various reasons. also i must say i did not find his ability to stop himself from meddling in my personal business helpful

i would stay at toucan again as i think the comments re entertainment and restaurant etc are perhaps an indication of the difficult financial period we are now in
