Turtle Beach - Reader Reports & Opinion
Just Read Bad Review
Hello - I must work...however....I have been surfing and gone to Trip and read this awful review about the 'dirty pool water', and the 'dog mess', etc on the beach at Turtle Beach.
Is this just a competitor making trouble or can one of you tell me REALLY what it's like? Jon and I are planning a trip we cannot afford (!) on credit after a totally dreadful and sad year and do not want to make an expensive -for us - mistake.
Just looking for some r and r, swimming, sailing, some good food and to sleeeep, end of Nov beginning Dec 2004. What do you think? In the past we would go to The Club Med resorts in the Indian Ocean but no more.
Sailing And Snorkel?
Hello - Thinking of going to The Rex end of Nov (2004). Would you advise me whether there is any sailing, what the snorkeling is like and whether we should try to wait until January to go - ie: if the rain will be bad?
Hi Steve, just a few questions re. myself & female friend's visit to Tobago on 7th.Oct. for a week. I am armed with some info.(Rough guide to..)but it would be nice from the horse's mouth so to speak...!
1. We will be staying at Turtle Rex, not all inclusive because an extra £250 a week for food sounds a lot of food for us!!! Also - because we don't want to be tied to the hotel. In which case, my question is - Will we be able to find food easily thereabouts?(We hope to eat the local fare.) We are not big eaters - but don't want to starve ourselves! Also - as we want to explore the island - I suppose it would be best if we hired a car. As we are both on a budget..can you recommend the cheapest car hire place nearby.(As we both don't know much about technical things on cars - also, the safest!) My next question concerns innoculations. I am going to the GP Monday as I need a polio & Hep. A booster.(Had typhoid jab. 2 yrs. ago)Is there anything else that you would think necessary? Thanks in anticipation. Marian.
Dress Code At The Rex Turtle Beach Resort
This is our (boyfriend Steve and myself) first trip to the Caribbean and we're very excited - we're travelling in less than 2 weeks but we need to know some of the essentials!
I've had a good look at the reviews posted and there are a few comments on the dress code required for dinner at the Turtle Beach. Can someone please advise if it is strictly no jeans or t-shirts? We're not scruffy but prefer to dress more casually when on our hols......
We've seen several recommendations of particular room locations - can anyone give us the definitive guide as to which room we should be aiming for if we want the best view?
Sunday School - what time should we aim to get there? What's the best time to get picked up by taxi to go back to the resort?
PS - thanks for all the info already provided by the site. We can't wait to go!
Will They Let Us Use The Pool ,etc
After spending a fantastic week at "Birdies Nest" last year,I will be returning to Tobago in feb of 2005. I will once again be staying at the nest but would like to use some of the facilities at the RTB, i.e the pool, bars etc. Does anyone know if this would be acceptable.
