Wedding At Rtb In Nov 2005

Mark B

Hi there,

Me and my fiancÚ have decided with the spiraling costs of weddings in the UK to get married in Tobago and we have booked to stay at the Rex Turtle Beach Hotel for two weeks in November this year.

Have read some mixed reviews about the hotel, but despite this we saw pics of the beach location and the gardens and thought this was exactly what we wanted to make our dream day come true.

Has anybody been married at this hotel who can tell us what it is like?

Many thanks

Mark

Any Tips For First Timers?!

Steven Oswald

Hi!

Having spent some time looking through the many posts on this excellent forum, it is clear there are lots of you people out there with useful tips re holidaying in Tobago.

My sister Tracy, my mate Richard and myself are going out to stay at the RTB in 2 weeks time. We have never been "west" before - having always gone to the far East in the past - (Sri Lanka, Singapore, Bali etc.) - so I expect this will be quite different!! Shorter flight for a start - which is good news!

We are staying room only - mainly because past experience has shown us that it encourages us to be lazy and not go and explore! (As a result we have stayed RO for all but our 1st holiday). Anyway, I know there have been many similar questions on this site in the past, but if anyone can give us some tips or advice about where we should be going out to eat and also how to get there (i.e taxis and how much they cost etc.) we would be EXTREMELY grateful. (p.s we eat anything - within reason!!)

Any other general advice would also be welcome - apologies for probably making you guys repeat yourselves...

Can't wait to get there...been thoroughly annoyed all summer about all the sun-tanned people strolling back to work after their holidays..so looking forward to getting our own back!

Thank you in advance,

Steven, Richard & Tracy.

Hire A Local For The Day

J Carden

Hi,

Although we are definately going to hire a car for the duration of our holiday in October, I would be keen to know how we would go about hireing a local for the day so we can get an overview of the Island. It's quite likely that our hosts at Hummingbird Heights will be able to advise, however it is always nice to hear other peoples storys. I read that someone else has hired a local and it was about 200TT. What is this equivalent to in English money? :D

Any Tips :?:

Rex Lovers

Sam Blake

hi steve, ive just been reviewing all the notes from previous stayers at the Rex Tobago.

Firstly i have to say that weve, (thats 21 of us and a wedding !) have stayed at the Rex Genadian and (8 of us, thats 6adults 2 kids) have stayed at the Rex Papillion over the last two years. We have been greatly impressed by both hotels which is why were giving the Turtle Beach a bash !

What concerns me just a tad is that there seem to be quite a lot of negative reviews over the Turtle Beach hotel, I know that these reviews are probably sent by people who have gardeners and cleaners but can you just put my mind at rest and tell me thats its as wonderful as the sister hotels !

We have 3 children between us, thats a 7 8 and 7mth old baby, and the older kids love nothing better (as do we !) than to go to the kids club every day, so can you just reassure me that this club is just the same as the other Rex's!

Keep up the good work with the web site.

your fellow Rex followers !

The Blakes
