Male Barred Antshrike (Thamnophilus doliatus)

This endearing little bird, which has a wonderful " ka-ka-ka" call, hops between low trees, bush and shrubs in
search of insects. It's trusting nature makes the Antshrike a regular companion while you walk through it's territory.
Similar to Hummingbirds the Barred Antshrike is a stickler for punctuality. This male would hop out from tall
grass to take a nibble or two of bread before skulking off again within ten minutes of five pm each day.
