Ade's Domicil Guesthouse - 4 Apartments
Ade's Guesthouse (also known as Ade's Place) is located in the upmarket Bacolet Point area of Tobago's capital, Scarborough. The house offers a choice of 2 studio apartments and 2 1-bedroom apartments.
Ade's won the award of "B&B Property of the Year" in 2006 and 2007 and received the 1st place award for the "Customer Service Excellence Survey (small properties)" for 2006 by the local Ministry of Tourism. Alibaba's Sea Breeze - 4 Apartments
Alibaba's Sea Breeze beach apartments are located right above Castara's Little Bay (also known as Heavenly Bay) and provide direct access onto the beach. The four 1-bedroom apartments overlook the sea, reef and both of Castara's beaches.
We spent four nights at Sea Breeze during our 2006 tour of Tobago. The apartments are ideally placed, highly affordable and we can thoroughly recommend them to all readers. Our full report is available through the 'Review' tab above.

The Angel Apartments consist of 12 spacious 1-bedroom air-conditioned apartments housed in a 3-storey building near the smaller beach in Castara.
The property is just fifty metres from Castara's Heavenly Bay. The apartments have a lounge/dining area, kitchen, bedroom and large shower room and residents have the use of a private swiimming pool. The upper apartments have verandas with views of the bay.

Arnos Vale Vacation Apartments - 3 Apartments
The Arnos Vale Apartments are located on the outskirts of Plymouth village, shortly before Arnos Vale. Every time I pass the property I am impressed by the immaculately painted buildings and neat, beautifully landscaped grounds. It therefore came as little surprise to find that the owner, Victor Forde, was equally charming when I had the pleasure of meeting him during our 2005 trip to Tobago.
The property offers two 2-bedroom apartments and one 1-bedroom apartment. Wheelchair access is possible to one of the two-bedroom apartments.

Bayview Villa is very private and beautifully landscaped. Its shared pool with private sun-terrace is set in a lush tropical garden. Offering panoramic sea views of Stone Haven Bay, the villa is only a short walk from Grafton Beach and a 2 to 3 minute walk from the happening hamlet of Pleasant Prospect with its cash stop, a small but well-stocked mini-mart and all the self-catering amenities needed to create the holiday of your dreams.
The villa can be rented as an entire unit, providing accommodation for up to 10 adults, or let as separate units. There are 3 floors or levels, each offering a separate self-contained apartment: on the top level "The Captain's Quarters" is a spacious 3-bedroom apartment; there is a one-bedroom unit in the middle; and "Crew's Nest" is the tastefully furnished studio apartment located on the lower deck closest to the pool. The middle one-bedroom unit is only available during the summer months.

A beautifully situated wooden house directly on Heavenly Bay beach at Castara. The Beach House faces due west, so offers spectacular views of the sun and moon setting over the sea. The upper floor of the house forms a single one-bedroom apartment, whilst the lower floor has been subdivided into two self-contained studio apartments with fitted kitchen and veranda.
Our four nights at Coconut Heights, the upper apartment at Beach House were undoubtedly one of the highlights of our 2006 tour of Tobago. These apartments won't suit everyone, but they were just so 'us'.

The Belleviste Apartments are located in a semi-residential part of Crown Point, close to the airport. Store Bay is only a few minutes walk away. The few reviews that we've found have been very complimentary. Accommodation consists of 20 studio and one or two-bedroom apartments, each with kitchenettes for self-catering.

Bijou Des Caraibes - 4 Apartments
Located within a five minute drive of Mount Irvine beach, Bijou des Caraibes is a popular apartment house offering two studio apartments, a one-bedroom apartment and a two-bedroom apartment.
We enjoyed a far too brief stay at Bijou Des Caraibes during our 2003 visit to Tobago and totally endorse all the rave reviews we have read about this small establishment. The accommodation is relatively no-frills, but comfortable. The hospitality from owner Judy Gemmet is second to none. Its no wonder that guests return time after time.

Birdie's Nest - 3 Apartments
Literally on the beach overlooking Black Rock's Courland Bay, Birdie's Nest is a comfortably furnished West Indian beach house. This property will provide a genuine 'true' Caribbean experience.
The main two-bedroom apartment occupies the entire upper floor of the house. The lower floor has recently been converted to provide two smaller one-bedroom apartments.
We had a look around Birdie's Nest during our 2001, while the downstairs apartments were being built. The American visitors resident in the main apartment were more than happy. Both they and I were superbly impressed by young Prince Robinson (just 18 years of age the week before) who effectively manages the property for his mother, the charmingly named Princess.
This property may lack the sophistication of some places, but if sophistication is what you are looking for, why go to Tobago? Those who wish to experience the 'true' beauty of the island - the warmth and hospitality of the local people - should look no further.

Birdsong Villa - 3-bedroom Apartment
Previously known as Villa Gillailes, Birdsong Villa is a Spanish-Caribbean style villa set in a half-acre of richly landscaped grounds and located on the lush Mount Irvine Estate. The property was very favourably reviewed by both the New York Times and the New York Post.
The lower floor of this lovely traditional property contains an apartment, which is often used by the owners, whose main home is in Trinidad. However, residents in the villa are assured of quiet and privacy and when in residence, the owners, Mr & Mrs Goddard, are the very warmest and friendliest of hosts, as I can attest, having met them both.

Canoe Bay Resort - 17 Apartments
A large sign on Tobago’s main highway announces the Canoe Bay Hotel & Beach Resort. Visitors adventurous enough to drive down a mile of newly-paved track may be a little disappointed. The property is neither a hotel nor a true resort. It consists of a rather unattractive block of 14 budget-grade one-bedroom studio apartments, an older block of 3 2-bedroom apartments, plus a beach cafe-bar with limited snack menu at higher prices than dictated by the quality. In our experience, friendly service is not an option.
The Canoe Bay Resort’s strongest feature is the shallow waters of the bay, surrounded by a small but pleasant beach. The swimming is ideal for families with small children. The beach is open to the public. Visitors who make the mistake of wandering around the property before first paying the admission charge are likely to experience the allegedly high-handed and arrogant manner of the eccentric owner and/or staff. The beach cafe-bar is regularly used to host children’s parties and other similar facilities. Based on our personal experiences, visitors who attempt to use the facilities during such functions are likely to be sent packing with excessive rudeness.
It should be noted that Canoe Bay is located immediately adjacent to Tobago’s first industrial estate. Currently under construction, it is yet to be determined how much this will impact on the previous peace and quiet of the property.

Castara Retreats consists of a newly-built wooden Caribbean house split into three apartments - the two-bedroom Rainforest with Hummingbird 1 and Hummingbird 2, each with one bedroom, below.
The property also now offers three self-contained lodges: the popular renovated Fisherman's Lodge and two new Haiku lodges. The apartments and lodges can be rented separately or combined for larger families or groups.
The property is set in lush grounds on the hillside above beautiful Castara bay and has very rapidly achieved a truly excellent reputation.
We started our 2005 visit to Tobago with 5 days at Castara Retreats. We now fully understand why the property attracts such regular and highly positive comment in our forum. This accommodation offers a truly unique experience.

Coral Ridge Studio Apartments - 8 Apartments
The Coral Ridge Studio Apartments are located in Crown Point close to the airport perimeter. Store Bay and Pigeon Point beaches are within walking distance, if you're young and fit.
The Coral Ridge Apartments are managed and marketed by a small Norwegian-owned agency, Caribbean Holidays, who seem to trade under a variety of different names and website addresses. The condominium is built around the championship golf course on the new Tobago Plantations development. Bedrooms are air-conditioned and it has a Jacuzzi and Plunge Pool. Petit Careme Apartment - 1-bedroom Apartment
Petit Careme is located in a small gated secure community of five villas, known as Tobago Villas On The Green and located in a two-acre valley adjacent to the Mount Irvine Golf Course.
This villa and apartment received the Tobago Tourism Department "Villa of the Year" award in both 2004 and 2005. The three-bedroom villa can accommodate six adults in very great comfort. In addition, the villa has a separate air-conditioned completely self-contained one-bedroom apartment which can be hired independently or with the villa. Being a totally private small community, the five villas would make a stunning base for a wedding or corporate party.
We stayed at Petit Careme in 2005 and again in 2008 and thought the Tobago Villas On The Green would make a wonderful and very private venue for a wedding or corporate party. Read our review for full details.

Restorations Tobago - 3 Apartments
Restorations Tobago is the corporate name of one of the 'Seashells' villas on the Bon Accord development that has been split, somewhat surprisingly, into three self-contained apartment units. The upper floor of the house represents a three-bedroom unit called LaVaughn House and the ground floor into two two-bedroom units called Tiye Villas 1 and Tiye Villas 2. We understand that a separate building is being built on the same plot and will offer 3 1-bedroom studio units.
We are somewhat disturbed by the owners marketing of this property. The names and language used give the distinct impression that the accommodation takes the form of a detached 3-bedroom house and two 2-bedroom 'villas'. This is not the case. It is a relatively small villa sub-divided into multiple accommodation units.

Sandy Point Village - 25 Apartments
The Sandy Point Village is located at Sandy Point, next to the airport. The small Sandy Point beach outside the hotel is not always ideal for swimming and most guests will take the 10-minutes walk to Store Bay. The Sandy Point Village should not be confused with adjacent Sandy Point Beach Club which enjoys a far superior reputation, despite the fact that until recently, both establishments shared apartments within the same building complex, leading to total confusion by all concerned.
Readers visiting this property's own website should be wary of the rates quoted, which exclude the 10% compulsory service charge and 10% Government Room Tax. We strongly condemn this practse, although it has to be said that doing so often tells the visitor a lot about the establishment.

Sherwood Park Apartments - 10 Apartments
Located at Carnbee, half-way between Crown Point airport and Scarborough, the reputation of the Sherwood Park Apartments goes from strength to strength. So much so that our decision to stay at, and review, this small self-catering apartment house during our 2004 annual pilgrimage to Tobago was an easy and early decision.
We were certainly not disappointed and can confirm the good reports and positive comments expressed so regularly in the myTobago forum. It would be difficult to find alternative self-catering accommodation on Tobago with such a great combination of price, features and facilities, packaged in such a relaxing and peaceful location with some of the friendliest and helpful management and staff on the island.

Top O' Tobago Cabanas - 3 Apartments
Top O' Tobago Villa is located on a hilltop in six acres of luxuriant tropical vegetation. The views from this hilltop retreat are stunning and stretch from Tobago's northern hill ranges down to Buccoo Reef and the Nylon Pool. Arnos Vale Bay is a simple 10-minute stroll away across lovely nature trails.
The accommodation at Top O' Tobago comprises three self-contained studio apartment 'cabanas' that will each sleep four, plus the main house which can accommodate a further 4/5 people. Although normally rented as a single entity, the individual units can be rented separately.
We first stayed at Top O' Tobago in 2004 and said then that we suspect that it will be a long, long time before we stay at another property that suits us more personally. We LOVED it. We stayed again in 2008 and are delighted to confirm the sentiments. This is a VERY special place.

We started our 2005 annual pilgrimage with four days at Top River Pearl. We wished we had allowed longer. Although basic, like ALL accommodation in Charlotteville, we would have been more than happy to spend a full two weeks at this friendly little guesthouse.
