Infinity Villa - Review Page 2

The Living Room

As you arrive at the security gate of the small development on which Infinity is situated, you catch fleeting glimpses of the Atlantic Ocean. However, it is not until you cross the threshold of the villa that the full impact really hits you. Three wide sets of glazed doors across the 42-foot-long living area provide a stunning vista of the ocean, across the swimming pool. It is difficult to tear your eyes away and from the panorama and actually look at the living area, which is deserving in its own right.

The décor was clearly chosen by someone with a good eye. The overall impression is of space and light. It is modern in style and functional in use, yet welcoming. The theme is white, relieved by framed mirrors, colourful prints and other attractive wall decorations.

The lounge area comprises a pair of very comfortable reclining leather settees and an armchair with footstools grouped around a glass-The living roomtopped coffee table and facing a 32-inch cable television with Xbox games console/DVD player, but no games or DVDs. Nearby, a music centre offers local radio stations and entertainment, assuming you bring you own CDs or audio cassette tapes. A set of cupboards stores a useful range of board games, books and other reading matter.

At the other end of the living area, a large glass-topped dining table comfortably accommodates eight people. Close by, two cupboards discreetly hide a bar with a fridge large enough to keep at least three cases of Carib well chilled. The cupboards are well stocked with glasses and other bar supplies.

The kitchen is separated from the dining and living area by a breakfast bar with four tall wickerwork stools. The kitchen is fully equipped with a large auto-igniting four-ring gas stove with grill (broiler), an electric coffee filter machine, kettle, food blender, microwave oven, dishwasher and an American fridge/freezer with water and ice dispenser. It was pleasing to notice a fire extinguisher discreetly tucked away in a corner, readily accessible in case of emergency. The cupboards were stocked with lots of clean-looking crockery, glassware and cutlery. Everything was of good quality and in excellent working condition. Like everywhere else throughout the villa, we were impressed with the attention to detail.

The Beach VillaLeading off the living room is a small cloakroom with toilet and washbasin and a utility room with washer and dryer, iron and ironing board, a useful pack of emergency supplies (toothbrush, toothpaste, sewing kit, etc.), first aid kit and a second fire extinguisher.

The living room is located in the centre of the villa, with corridors leading off to two bedrooms on each side. Three overhead ceiling fans and a couple of free-standing floor fans are provided for cooling. Frankly, the cool Atlantic breezes sweeping through the house when the patio doors were open was quite enough to keep the house very comfortable without additional help.
